It’s funny being reminded that Dan Kelly was for and available. But maybe it’s best he was spared a part in all this?

Yeah real shame we haven't seen more of him in the England midfield but maybe it's a blessing that some of the younger lads are being spared this shite show and can come in for the 6N unmarred by the likely world cup disaster.

Personally, I've just never thought he was that good. Some nice moments here and there where his athleticism carries him, but not the all round game and consistency you need at the top level.

That said, I'm often wrong and if you're going to be an EQP playing these days, do it as a centre. As your path to the top isn't the toughest.

It's possible you're right - he looks like has the material, but there's been a couple of well-regarded coaches now who have taken a look and then put him to the sidelines.

The Tigers match feed says he kicked a 50/22 which would be a new string to his bow. Will be interesting to see if the new regime have looked to add more elements to his game. I got the impression when he first signed that Borthwick wanted him to become at 13/wing type but it never seemed to happen.

Exeter also had a penalty reversed for excessive celebration. Seems they are going the Series route of being ott about everything...

There is something in the law book which allows refs to penalise teams for anything that is deemed prejudicial to the spirit of good sportsmanship or something along those lines.
I've experienced it once or twice when players were trying to wind opponents up.

I have used it a few times at age grade for general shithousery and once I had a 9 literally screaming down his oppo's ear when he was trying to put the ball into a scrum.

Thursday night, not shown anywhere though. Does mean Bristol are sending a young side out for the cup.

Game ended up 26 - 52 to the BaaBaa's

It seems Bristol forgot that you can't leave gaps in defence as a BaaBaa's team , even relatively weak ones, they'll run straight through. Ibitoye & Bailey had stinkers, Thacker (3 tries) and Batley the pick of the Bristol side.

2 loses from 2 is not a great way to start the season....
