England v Chile (Sat/Sun)

Post by Lizard »

England look to be gathering steam against the weaker nations. This could be a nasty wake-up call for the debutant darlings of the tournament.

Chile certainly struggled with the Samoan maul and power running game.

Could be a really ugly game if Straining Belief sticks to the plan used vs Japan.

Should see some brave and creative back play, with good skill level in this match.
Eng could also do a bit, as Chi tire in 2nd half.. :)

Farrell will return.
England will score a lot of tries against Chile.
This will make them look good in the eyes of some, but will really mean nothing, given Chile's lowly standing.
England's newly-gained self confidence will crumble with a dose of reality in the knock-out stages.

The best we can hope for is a scratchy England win against pumped up Chilean dynamite. The truth is this will be an absolute pumping for Chile. England will be 8 tries to the good at 80.

Bit too conservative. 11 tries to the good exceeded my expectations. Some very good performances against admittedly weak opposition. Obviously Arundel has put his hand up but so did that big lock. I still think Farrell is a waste of space but he had a good game today. I have my doubts about Marcus at full back, especially against more powerful teams, but he has bags of pace, how does he look at IC?

:D we will get to ic, but at the moment on the emb we are trying to squeeze him into the 11 shirt……. I think 9 is his calling.

The big lock brought the SA physicality we have been lacking. Good player is Ribbans
