Re: QF v Fiji
Can't believe the commentators are talking about that being a yellow. Utter nonsense - it's a definite penalty, but nothing like a yellow card.
Crap penalty for TCurry to give away though. So blatant.

England seem to have spotted something in the analysis. On two visits we've looked to attack a narrow blindside. Mitchell was unsuccessful but then Manu manages to power over. Be interesting to see if that's a theme for our attack.

That's got every chance of going up to be a red.

Gods, every time, you can hear Fazlet chirping in the ref's ear. I wish he'd shut up.
Surely Smith needs an HIA there.

Second ridiculously pointless penalty from Curry. This will be England 15, Curry's dumb penalties 6.

Curry bit of a loose cannon - few let offs for Eng already kicking wise.

That looked very much like a head-on-head contact from Farrell just before that try.

Are we going to lose the yellow card period 7 nil?

Jesus wept Courtney, at least take a bit of a look up before you go charging into your own man.

Very decent first half, breakdown hugely improved, and Faz has played very well at 10 to be fair. Smith showed both why he is useful at 15, but why he shouldn't start there.

Does any flyhalf in the world telegraph a pass like Farrell? Feels like basically every pass he does the recipient gets absolutely smashed.

This is the best we’ve seen from England with Farrell in the team for a while.
Or are Fiji just that bad today?

Eng looking good. Even I can see how amusing it would be if England were the only home nations team to make the semis.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Fiji pissing this game away with poor discipline/soft penalties.
Had to laugh at 39 min when sir told off the Fiji SH about crooked scrum feeds. Yes - but then what about every other SH in every other game in the RWC, including his England counterpart today.

left to right, no. He's fine the other way, and I think he's played well this half. Gawd that hurt.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 4:48 pm Does any flyhalf in the world telegraph a pass like Farrell? Feels like basically every pass he does the recipient gets absolutely smashed.
Backs bench also shown to be a bit daft- Smith goes off and results in two players shifting position plus a replacement.

Has to be said Fiji are chucking it away with needless penalties, even so

I’m not even thinking so much about his passing skill but his body language on that last one (short inside ball off the right hand to Daly) just made it so obvious.Banquo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 4:51 pmleft to right, no. Generally playing well though.
Fun game. Clearly a match for last night and this evening.

Re: QF v Fiji
England are playing really well and gobbling Fiji up at the breakdown. Curry is lucky not to get ten mins, but equally Fiji are lucky not to be down to 14 permanently.
The Fiji storm starts about on the hour mark.

Genge and Farrell are soooo embarrassing.
