Hmmmm we so miss Ackerman and VRR. Risky sticking with GB at 10 frankly.

Yep. That's why he's currently ineligible for them.

Aye. At such a young age I’m surprised he opted to leave Ospreys. He is quality

Nice to see old man Slade playing with a bit of zip today. Only half watching this game but not sure I've noticed Atkinson much.

Is Clement one that should be in the England conversation at some point? Reminds me of Ben Morgan in the way he carries, but without the bonus blubber. Feels like he'll be stuck behind Mercer/Ackermann/Tuisue if they can ever keep them all fit though.

Exeter came close to losing with about six silly mistakes in that 2nd half - line-outs, penalties etc. Overall, though, they are on the rise.

Welsh club rugby was pretty toxic at the point he left with all the funding fears. Ospreys left him on a development contract even when he was playing for Wales. Something like £40k a year for a starting international. Think that soured things, there were some rumours that the Ospreys low balled him on his senior contract and the WRU tried to bully him into taking it by making him ineligible for the world cup if he moved to the Prem (Will Rowlands remained eligible despite heading to France).

Great finish but the game contained far too many errors with neither side quite accurate enough. Tough on Gloucester to lose like that at the end. Thought Clement was very good and Barton showed up well.
Slade had some nice touches along with Hawkins. Could be a fruitful partnership.
The Tuima yellow was one of the worst calls i've seen this season.

Exeter seemed to have the belief and soon as they had the momentum it seemed inevitable.

Agreed. It was as if the ref did not understand the TMO on the fundamental issue of the clash not being with the ball carrier. On that, I thought Kay made an interesting point, "Why not penalise the Gloucester player for the same offence?"

That explains a lot. Can we nab him for the next WC?

If he has any English family then in theory the summer tour in 2026 but as his father, uncle and grandfather all had some sort of Welsh representation I suspect he's not likely to switch allegiance.

Atkinson made a few good contributions. He looks to have potential but to what extent it's hard to say - yet.

Some good - took his try well and made a lovely tip on to set up Thorleys's but threw a few loose passes that were unusual for him. Still learning but the trajectory is upward and he is a player worth investment in.

Exeter have launched a full investigation after TNT Sport pundit and former England international Ugo Monye claimed he was racially abused by a fan following the Chiefs’ Gallagher Premiership victory over Gloucester.

Monye, a 14-cap England international, explained the incident happened while he was leaving Sandy Park and hit out at those who witnessed it but did not stick up for him.

“Leaving Sandy Park and one supporter running through the crowd starts shouting ‘N----, N----…’ disgraceful,” Monye wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Not a single person said a word, challenged or even reported it. He walks off after a mild scuffle and fans now telling me “we’re with you”.

“B------s you’re with me. You weren’t with me when you saw and heard the most blatant racism I’ve seen from a supporter at a live game. So fed up.”

Exeter replied to the post announcing they are launching an investigation before releasing a full statement which read: “In light of recent accusations regarding an incident of racist abuse at Sandy Park following the conclusion of our victory over Gloucester Rugby in the Gallagher Premiership, Exeter Rugby Club will be launching a full investigation.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated at our Rugby Club, and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms.

“Our team will begin to review CCTV footage from the stadium immediately in an attempt to identify the individual in question and we would like to extend our sincerest apologies to Ugo Monye, a member of the rugby community that is highly respected by everyone at our club.

“If anyone has any information regarding this incident we would ask you to get in touch with the Chiefs as soon as you can.”

Premiership Rugby added: “Premiership Rugby is aware of the accusations of racist abuse suffered by Ugo Monye at Sandy Park following the Exeter Chiefs match against Gloucester.

“Premiership Rugby offers our full support to Ugo Monye and we stand united with our clubs and players in the fight against racism. Racism has absolutely no place in our game or society.

“Exeter Chiefs have launched a full investigation and we urge anyone with a

100%. Get the facts, as far as possible, and throw the book.

Not that we should rely on this kind of statement, but Ugo doesn't strike me as the kind to make anything like that up. So there's clearly something there. Whatever it is needs to be established. There are clearly plenty of people who must have heard/seen something.

Awful
