Ah the good old Daily Mail with a good interview with Kpoku and then using a picture of a totally different black player
Hah! Hadn't looked at the pictures. Is that Tuisova?
The comments are great too. Some good, honest, white concern from the Mail's faithful correspondents - his trashtalk is so violent! Does he know about sportsmanship?! Thank gods the arbiters of decency are here to offer advice.
He's likely agreed to terminate early on the back of the RFU getting a kicking in the press for how they are spending their income. Getting Jones off the payroll helps lighten the financial load. I wonder if his announcement at Munster is incoming. The RFU would presumably be a lot happier with letting him go to do that as opposed to going to a tier 1 nation.

Mixed news on Kpoku. Signed a new deal with Racing until 2027 but says he definitely wants to play for England and not France.

Frankly insane that we let him go, it was really looking dangerous

He didn't want to stay and handed in his notice. You can't keep people who don't want to stay.

as demonstrated by the stupidity of actually keeping him 'working'.

Forcing him to work his notice as opposed to allowing an immediate termination and acquisition by a tier 1 nation. I presume he's been allowed off now as he's joining Munster.

..that certainly helped the squad perform in the ai`s. It was daft. Agree to part, save money

Or he's been released now because someone has paid for his release.
Remember that notice periods work both ways and he may well have refused to leave without compensation.

As ever, we are guessing. And I never knew that about notice periods, your insight is astounding - but seriously, that’s why I said agree to part, a negotiation some might call it, very common. Compromise Agreement.
Working an extended notice period in that environment remotely just seems mad and a little vindictive to me. But as it’s Steve, probably forgiven I guess.

Yeah but compromise agreements normally require a certain amount of pay out and the RFU might not have been feeling that generous. Especially after Jones made those comments to the press.

they paid him a load to do some coding anyway....so pretty easy money. Iffy look all round tbh

This is a baffling conversation. Did the idea that he never even wanted to be defence coach get debunked or what? I thought he just didn't like the role and quit, but we wanted to keep him around to do video analysis.

yus, the latter of which imo was misguided. Almost anyone can do the coding work, very expensive way of doing.
I think it was more about not letting him sack off his contract and go straight to a rival, rather than because we actually thought he would be a great option to do some video analysis.

Well yes but you could say, here’s half your money, go work but not for a tier 1 nation til 2025 say
Max Malins has ruptured his achilles. Had heard he was weighing up a renewal from Bristol and a good offer in France. Presumably this injury puts the kibosh on any French move.

What a shame for him.
One of those a bit like Abendanon you could imagine tearing it up in France and then having people outraged that he’s not been getting picked for England.
