The issue with Gardner is: a) he’s being very fussy which makes it hard to be consistent; b) he’s clearly loving the sound of his own voice - let the game flow FFS

Reduced to following the text updates. Seems like that is kinder on the eyes.

Nah, we went offside several times in the lead-up to the warning, he played advantage rather than blowing up but that was what the warning was for. George even asked him and he mentioned several offsides. We had a team warning, George asked to speak to the team.Captainhaircut wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 9:12 pmGenuinely some of the worst refereeing I’ve seen. 2 offsides, a high tackle that got a yellow and a breakdown penalty that wasn’t a pen. None in the redzone.
He’s an absolute disgrace this guy and always has been. This is sort of shit is why Rugby can’t break the mainstream and become financially viable.

It was a couple of offsides within the same passage of play though. So 4 pens total, 1 which was wrong and 1 which already had a yellow card.R3dders wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 9:14 pmNah, we went offside several times in the lead-up to the warning, he played advantage rather than blowing up but that was what the warning was for. It’s never a team yellow and everyone knows it. The little chat with George was just him playing the biggun as usual. Loves the sound of his own voice, loves making the game about him.
The Aussie Nigel Owens.

That would make so much more sense if it were actually true.
Sadly, however, being inside isnt a penalty offence
The team warning was fine, but the actual yellow was for an imagined offencw

How the hell did we not get a penalty before the knock on for those two Pumas on the wrong side impeding Spencer, of all the soft pens against us that was a stone wall.
Willis has been incredible so far. Ford is just doing Ford things and keeping us in the game when we should be under the pump.

I'd also add Spencer is awful, so many passes behind Ford or stopping him dead. His kicking isn't what we see from him at Bath either. Ben's shite twin brother has turned up for international duty again.

I guess someone was going to emulate Steve Walsh sooner or laterSixAndAHalf wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 9:13 pm The issue with Gardner is: a) he’s being very fussy which makes it hard to be consistent; b) he’s clearly loving the sound of his own voice - let the game flow FFS

We've done incredibly well to keep Argentina scoreless. Some excellent defence with plenty of commitment.
As expected there is a LOT of kicking.
The whole pack has fronted up but Willis has really stood out.

Willis IS our back row. Where are the flankers? I'd forgotten Underhill was on the pitch till a close up in the 26th minute. I think he's touched the ball twice. Curry did a bit early on, then disappeared. I hope Willis does 80, even if he's moved to 6. I'd bring Pepper and Dombrandt on at HT.FKAS wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 9:21 pm How the hell did we not get a penalty before the knock on for those two Pumas on the wrong side impeding Spencer, of all the soft pens against us that was a stone wall.

Underhill has made 15 tackles. We’ve hardly had the ball so not sure what else he is meant to do other than smash people as he always does.

Didn't Underhill hold up 2 potential tries?

Interesting half. They’ve had all of the bal (and the decisions) but what have they actually done with it? How many times have they gone beyond 5 phases? The closest they've come to scoring is from close range pick and goes. Even when we were down to 13 I didn't feel like we were massively stretched.
I'm not saying we have done much, but I feel like they're mostly getting credit for possession.

Thought we defended well first half. Argentina conceding straight away in the second will be a body blow you'd think. Great finish Roebuck.

Yeah in fairness Underhill isn't really there to touch the ball.

The speed of ball is really impressive when we do go for it - been a problem for some time under Borthers and Eddie before him. Didn’t we get a kiwi coach to focus on that specifically?

When did he hurt you?
What did he do?
It's okay, you're in a safe space here.
