New Zealand, Australia, Tier 2 Option(SRU website)

After our effort to spread the game over the last 5 or so years 8-) (touring Fiji/Samoa/Japan and playing Georgia this year) I'd like to see us invite Namibia to be the Tier 2 side that plays us at Murrayfield (or some regional stadium) next year. I don't recall them getting much of a chance to play Tier 1 sides.

Am all up for Namibia as our lass knows the parents of one of their players. They wanted to stay with us for a few days to keep costs down until they found out that we live about 250 miles away from anywhere they were playing. Could be an amusing day if we played them at home.

If we're going to Australia, maybe we could stop off in Bucharest? My mate's been and says it's brilliant.

Summer 2017 probably too early for Toony to make his mark but Aus is the best chance we'll have of winning a series in the SH.

Oz, are pretty poor at the moment. Quite interested to see how poor SH teams(bar the Abs) are this Autumn against NH. The Abs are incredible, but their opposition , especially SA, weren't impressive at all.

12 NOV 2016 14:30 (GMT) International Scotland Australia L
19 NOV 2016 17:00 (GMT) International Scotland Argentina W(tight)
26 NOV 2016 14:30 (GMT) International Scotland Georgia W

Six Nations 2017
4 FEB 2017 14:25 (GMT) Six Nations Scotland Ireland W(tight)
12 FEB 2017 15:00 (GMT) Six Nations France Scotland L

11 MAR 2017 16:00 (GMT) Six Nations England Scotland L

Are you mental? It's been a decade since we got 3 wins in the 6N.

It's what I expect as a positive end to Vern's Era. Reality usually kicks in about 5 minutes into any game.
Reality: Ireland and Wales, capability to out-muscle us.

You quite clearly mean 'hope'. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest we will or are even capable of getting 3 wins in the 6N.

Why? because Cotter would be leaving?

Yes, probably, but I do expect these games to be tighter than they have for the last few years.
(no red cards vs Wales would be good).

Because they effectively sacked him. And realistically, in this unrealistic scenario, it would be hard for Townsend on his reported big money deal to follow.

Why ? What improvements have you seen to support this prediction?

The last time we all saw Scotland play was against Japan x2 and the general consensus was we were crap.

It will of course be easier to judge after the Autumn tests, but Glasgow, with a injury plagued team has played some decent Rugby(except against Munster) and Edinburgh seem to be going somewhere (although it is very early).

Competition for places at Lock, centre and Wings is healthy for the first time in some time. Competition in the back row is ok, but could be better. Unfortunately our Front Row is currently mince, but Key players could be back for 6 nations.

Also, 6 Nations are not end of the season games in close to tropical conditions. Players will probably not look exhausted after 10 minutes of game.

This is just speculation, but I do believe things are changing.

Times are indeed a-changing. When was the last time a Scotland coach selected a player who was 4th choice for his club? :)

Without looking into it, I'm going to go for not too far ago , Scotland has not be blessed with a fantastic pool of players to pick from. ;)

4th choice, really? Especially when there is an alternative who plays top flight rugby regularly? I am, of course, referring to the back-up TH clanger that Vern has made.

Aye, but it would be fucking hilarious in the most Scottish way possible.

Would settle for a game against Wales that didn't involve the words;
- controversial, harsh, yellow/red card, forward pass, knock on, disallowed try, play acting or Clancy.
