If you could swap....
Bored at work. You are allowed one player from another country that's isn't New Zealand to adopt as a Scotsman. Who would you choose?
Assuming a 1st choice XV of:
Nel
Ford/Brown - it doesn't matter
Dickinson
Gray squared
Barclay
Watson
Bradbury (or whatever your choice of BR is)
Laidlaw
Russell
Maitland
Dunbar
Jones
Seymour
Hogg

Laidlaw for Pienaar. Solves the goal kicking dilemma too.

Agustin Creevy and Connor Murray certainly come to mind. I suppose we'd need another goalkicker to ever move on from Laidlaw. Nadolo on the wing just for a laugh? Could do with a bit more power in the back line.
I'm struggling to think what order I would prioritise big ball carrying 6/8s that may be of use.

Probably not my choice but I've always wished DTH was Scottish.

Re: If you could swap....
Probably Pocock in and Watson out. Our back line could do some real damage with his turnovers. Would also consider Guiardo for Ford and Ijote for Gray senior not because he's the best lock but because we'd get the next decade of him partnering Gray jr.
Pienaar and Murray also good shouts and could add Parra in there too.

Re: If you could swap....
Watson picked up a couple of key turnovers/pens on Saturday to be fair, although clearly he is no Pocock.
A few different options (goes without saying I'd change for a 9 but that's been said already):
Jamie George who really should be Englands No.1 hooker. At 26 he should have more than 10 caps. We'd get about 6 or 7 years out of him.
Itoje as a 6 rather than second row.
Vermulen
SOB anywhere in the back row.
Liam Williams for Maitland.
What is noticeable is that the few to respond follows a trend - 2, 9 and a ball carrying back row. Which is what most of us have been saying for a while.

Pretty much in line with others thoughts, BDP, TJ Perenara or the Vermeulen of a year or so ago.

Id be close to picking Nakarawa but I like our locks. A Picamoles style 8 would be glorious though

Maybe not but what about reuniting Russell with Matawalu as a pairing?hp18 wrote:Naka would be awesome but as you say it's not the greatest need.Cameo wrote:Id be close to picking Nakarawa but I like our locks. A Picamoles style 8 would be glorious though

It is indicative of where we on here see the problem(s).

Connor Murray in a shot.
Then to be greedy Foley outside him.
Sorted.
