Dinner companion
I am on my way home for dinner with my wife and her old friend from uni days. The friend has been described to me by my wife as a "transitioning vegan." I'm not sure if this describes one aspect of her lifestyle or two.
Either way, what should I be expecting?

I'd be hoping for very expensive bottle of red/whiskey. I'd be expecting an evening of listening in graphic detail to her life changing decisions whilst dreaming of an expensive bottle of red/whiskey.Lizard wrote:I am on my way home for dinner with my wife and her old friend from uni days. Bottle of red? Like fuck. I'm a bottle of Pinot Gris down and she's onto her 3rd chamomile tea or some shit.
It took her 10 minutes to raise veganism as a topic of discussion. Then we got on to how yoga has like oh my god totally changed her life. Now we're talking about how her ex., who in my estimation has got off fuckin lightly.

Cripes. I wasn't told that she was staying the night. Now apparently we need to research whether our espresso machine is capable of frothing the powdered coconut milk she packed for her turmeric latte in the morning.
Mind you, that could be a pleasant relief after a lengthy lecture on the proper pricing of externalities of fossil fuel derived packaging.

Wait till she falls asleep, then suffocate her with her bamboo, fairtrade pillow.Lizard wrote:Cripes. I wasn't told that she was staying the night. What the fuck is it with this hipster turmeric obsession?
Feed her a plate of raw ginger and nettles for breakfast, with a big glass of fresh unpasteurized pigs milk. Then make her do the dishes using an open fire and a tin bucket in the street.

It's fecking annoying when hipsters sabotage something truly good, like turmeric. I loves it, I do. Turmeric potatoes, turmeric rice, turmeric in my curry/paprikas/casserole. But turmeric in coffee? Feck off.morepork wrote:What the fuck is it with this hipster turmeric obsession?
