Re: The West Awake
i wonder would this news have changed the minds of Aki and Dilliane, with regards to their own contract extensions.....Aki's tweet suggests so.

Was Bundi using the p-word in its American or Irish context? It could be that he'd just had a few too many Baccardi Breezers?

Annoyed he's leaving all the stuff about galway being great yadayada rings a bit hollow now, not sure wasps game this sunday will be the match I was hoping for. Done great things for Conn wish he gave it another year tbh

yep... some of those comments look a bit stupid now.....if henshaw, a homegrown talent, didn't believe it, i wonder why dillane and aki did.paddy no 11 wrote:Annoyed he's leaving all the stuff about galway being great yadayada rings a bit hollow now, not sure wasps game this sunday will be the match I was hoping for. serje, Aki is definitely not a happy camper. no doubt he'd have been off as well if he knew Lam was leaving. marmion suggesting it was too many shandys was him being mischievous, i think.

Re: The West Awake
There was talk of Aki coming to us in the days running up to his extending in Galway and I am quite sure that he will have thought long and hard about committing himself to the Westies when his prodigious talent could command quite a price elsewhere. So his indignation at Lam looking to the future financial security of his family is a little rich.
Don't get me wrong, I loathe the mercenary direction that the professional game has taken us but frankly, Bundi and Pat? There's a conversation between the pot and the kettle.

The move to Bristol annoys me too, fair enough if it was a big club guaranteed to be in Europe next year but he's going back to year 1 with Connacht effectively, with a potential huge budget (and a tonne of cash), apparently he had to give 6 months notice so not much he could do about not scuppering the rest of the season in fairness

Re: The West Awake
I didn't want Lam for Connacht. He'd failed at Blues and didn't seem to me to be the promising coach that would take Connacht on to better things. How wrong I was. He's been great for them and Irish rugby should be grateful. I'm more than a little surprised that he's leaving. Seems money talks even for the likes of Lam and I guess he'd have struggled to top last year. Even so, he can go with my blessing. Maybe we can find an Irish coach wh's ready to take on the challenge or find another rough diamond who can be polished up in the tough conditions out there. i only hope it's someone with the same commitment to flowing rugby, else they'll see players leaving in droves.

Just packed the Wildgosling off to meet up with his eejit friends for a night with Storm Babs and the numpties at Ravenhill. A true Munsterman, he'll be yelling for Connacht.

Gusher is on form tonight. 'Rare error in handling'! That's Wilson's third tonight and the 2nd from a restart. I think he's pissed. He must be the designated driver

So, Munster take a punt on an Ulster prop in the summer and before the old year's dead in the gutter he's running out against us for the Westies?
