And given that the English bench is a real strength, we need some impact players of our own. Moriarty and Ball add some carrying and physicality from the bench which we will probably need.Sourdust wrote:Exactly. On form, we have better options at 6 and 8. Ross can proves us wrong by coming on after an hour and winning the game for us.Sandydragon wrote: I would have said Moriarty to blindside, but Warburton upped his game and deserves another start.

This comment from Shaun Edwards doesn't bode well for Davies's starting possiblities:
"He put in some lovely sublime touches that contributed to creating tries. Sometimes the best attacking players are best in the last 20 minutes."

On shit. SO we should have a huge experience advantage in the back row which will help but their dogged defence will be well able to deal with our pedestrian and oh so predictable attacking plays. Until the English bench changes the pace of the game and we bring Sam on with 5 minutes to go.Numbers wrote:This comment from Shaun Edwards doesn't bode well for Davies's starting possiblities:

It doesn't make any sense. Davies was on for the last 40 minutes on Sunday. Does Edwards really think we'd have been better off with Biggar until 60 minutes? Here's a crazy idea - why not play your best attacking player for 80 minutes???

Sometimes the best attacking players are best in the first 60, you know, like when you go out to dictate the pace and and set up a decent lead, then you bring the safe pair of hands on to close out the game.
(why cant we ever think like that !)

Expecting a loss, hoping for a win, the team Wales environment is stale, its been in place too long, they can't change.

That's a pretty awful nickname you've chosen, LL. Any reason?
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

No offence. I just saw a documentary about the guy once and it was pretty dark. Anyway, welcome aboard. Probably won't see you around too much on this particular board, but I'm pretty active on some of the others.

Yes that seems to be the main topic these days, I actually like the guy, we need a leader like him in Britain, someone with a backbone.rowan wrote:Just go onto the politics board and post about Trump!Lord Lucan wrote:Yeah this board seems pretty dead, where's the busy section? Re: Team for England
I agree. I'd much rather look to take out chances in attack from the off, especially against a team with more than a few players missing from injury. Why not try and get ahread in the first half by playing some positive rugby than save it all for the last quarter - although given that we seem to save any attacking intent in many games if Kate until the final ten minutes, I suppose the final 20 is an improvement.MrK wrote:Sometimes the best attacking players are best in the first 60, you know, like when you go out to dictate the pace and and set up a decent lead, then you bring the safe pair of hands on to close out the game.

“Both Rob (Evans) and Tomas (Francis) made a big impact off the bench last weekend and deserve their opportunity to start."
So Sam Davies didn't make an impact, useless b@stard.
Glad to see North fit, looks like the Clart is still struggling.

Well put regarding Sam ... dissapointed that Clart is not ready ... but it is not the biggest dissapointment.Numbers wrote:“Both Rob (Evans) and Tomas (Francis) made a big impact off the bench last weekend and deserve their opportunity to start."

I dont have anything against Dan he is a fine player and has served both teams well ...but in comparison both the Ospreys and Wales are now a more effective potent attacking force with Sam at 10.

Very. We have just made life a lot more difficult for us. One feels that Howley is trying not to lose, rather than actuallly try to win.ALunpg wrote:I dont know about anyone else..but I feel quite deflated ..hoping it would be the start of change..but hey ho.. If the game is close after 60…
Will George, Haskell, Care, Te'o, and May - make more of a difference than - Faletau, Davies, Davies and Roberts

I wonder if the management were happy with his contribution off the bench? if the aim is to play a wider more attacking game after 60 minutes, where does Roberts fit into that plan?Renniks wrote:If the game is close after 60…

Re: Team for England
We all remember when they wouldn't drop Priestland for what seemed like years of Biggar running rings around him. Biggar is now getting the benefit of that same bloody-minded attitude. It's hard to begrudge it to him, but it's fucking depressing to watch.
