Fair play Cardiff. They weren't given any change at all from that ref.

That was a poor second half from Embra. Some of those kicks were horrible.

On that showing, CdP is nowhere near international quality.

For 65 minutes I thought that was going to be a dreadful performance but that they were going to scrape out a win with some very generous refereeing and some decent individual performances. However once again they just fell apart for 10-15 minutes and I flummoxed as to why it has kept happening over the past few months. Surely it can't be conditioning as it happens at various points throughout games and last night Cardiff had two yellow cards.

That Kinghorn pen on 74 mins (?) summed it up really. WTF was that? Kick for the corner and assess your options.

Really should have seen that out comfortably. Think Myreside could work quite well if the team starts showing something. Heard a kid say to his mate as we left "If we are going to come down here every two weeks Edinbugh really need to be better". Assuming they make the move permanent, next season really is vital in developing a fan base

Hugh Dan noted that Kinghorn wanted to be allowed to take a shot. I've no issue with that confidence but where was the senior player standing up, calming things down and pointing to the corner?

It was utterly moronic and sums up Edinburgh's season really.

When you've 5 mins left on the clock and the outcome of the game is still in your control there is no need to take Hail Mary pot shots at goal. If the clock was red then it's a different question.

Safe bet kick to the 22, rolling maul & grind them down a bit and you could be looking at a very different result.

It must be so frustrating for Edinburgh fans.

I've not been to an Embra match since Bradley. I'm not travelling all the way down there and spending that much money to watch shite when I can have a couple of beers at home and watch it. I've no issue watching a team get beat but won't watch one that play like they have over the last few years.

Dickinson back in action and McCallum gets a pro contract.

I would post the team but it's on one of those fucking videos.

Well deserved for McCallum. Stepped in and did his job when many senior players have been shite/shitebags.

So this is pretty much our best team and the Ospreys back-ups. How much are we going to lose by do you think?

Also no idea why the beeb have gilchrist in there twice.

Replacements: Stuart McInally, Derrick Appiah, Kevin Bryce, Grant Gilchrist, Lewis Carmichael, Nathan Fowles, Junior Rasolea, Michael Allen

Ospreys: Dan Evans, Keelan Giles, Kieron Fonotia, Josh Matavesi. Dafydd Howells, Sam Davies, Tom Habberfield (captain); Nicky Smith, Sam Parry, Brian Mujati, Tyler Ardron, Rory Thornton, Olly Cracknell, Sam Underhill, James King

How long does Dickinson need to play to be drafted in for England? Is that a terrible idea?

Also does anyone think McInally could have been Scotlands 8 by now if he'd stayed there?

Answer to question 1 is he shouldn't be. He is entering his mid 30s and if we want to get him to the next WC we need to handle him well. Interestingly there was a post on the Embra board on Monday saying the poster had been told Dicko was back this week and Nel is signing a new deal. Seeing the 1st part is right, fingers crossed for the second part.

Q2, possibly. There is an argument that he should be moved back there if Manu leaves IMO. Mild rumour on the Embra board he wants to stay but hasn't been offered a deal.

I know we probably shouldnt but if I was Cotter I would be very tempted to start Dickinson next week if he comes through tomorrow okay.

And if I were him I would jump at the chamce. Would it be the biggest game he has ever played? I know that says something about Scottish rugby over the last few yeara!

I think if he plays and plays well, there's no harm in sticking him on the bench at Twickenham.

In terms of WP, part of me is trying to remember how long he would have to be in the UK in order to qualify for citizenship! If it's 5 years, he may as well stay in Enbra where they will look after him, rather than down south. Talking to my outlaws, some of them are thinking about coming over and staying!

True.

On another note 22nd consecutive start for Toolis. Decent effort.

Sad to see how out of sorts CDP is these days. He's not looked in form for quite a while.

Ritchie looking like the best backrower Edinburgh have since the internationals were called up.

Aye, he's definitely not what he was pre injury. He was out for ages mind you.

Turgid stuff this match. Weather isn't helping I imagine, but still, it's been pretty poor from Embra. Good line from the O's for their try, half our defensive line caught drifting.

Surely should have backed himself for the corner there? Might have been the angle the TV gave, but that looked on to me.

That 1.5 mins of phase by phase play on 38-39 mins sums them up really. What were they trying to achieve? Certainly not getting over the line...

Dickinson off injured. Needs a stretcher.

We don't half seem to play havoc with player welfare just because an international tournament is being played.

I can't for the life of me remember who it was but we really did take the piss with one of the lads before the RWC. Was it Dunbar?
