He has been getting a bit of gametime. Anyone seen how he's playing?

Not seen a lot of him but he seems to be smart and have a bit of time on the ball. I fear he's not really smashy enough to be a first team player for Saints.

Gavlet takes on Cipriani on telly Saturday - he's going to be in for a torrid time of it I'm afraid.

Torrid time? Because of Bath injuries/form?

Wasps have had a few struggles on the road, no?

HE's got Chris Cook providing the ball for him, playing against Simpson and Cipriani; and by far the most lethal back 3 in the league, so any wayward kicking will be ruthlessly punished. No boshers outside of him for a get-out-of-jail option, and no real experience there either to help shepherd/guide him (though better that thatn Banahan's lack of trust in him from his game time in October/November).
Oh his backrow are a bunch of large enforcers - but there's not much mobility there; in direct contrast to Wasps.

Basically, Bath are coming in, equiped for an arm-wrestle; but wasps will just dance around us if we give them as much as 35% possession.

Both teams are low on form currently, Bath lower though.

Cheers WT, haven't seen much AP this year.

Oli Kebble on the bench for Stormers just now v Jaguares. A good test if he gets on! Creevy starting for Jaguares.

Hastings playing well so far. Nice bit of play that Denton should have scored off.

Baths tackling is horrific though.

Few stray kicks and a wee knock on since my last post. Healy making a good point that Hastings probably needs to play closer to the gain line

Visser was on the scoreboard again today and Maitland is back for sarries which means he's fit again. The BBC report that he was out of 6N was nonsense (poorly written). Taylor retains his place at 15.

Gavlet had the odd nice touch, defends bravely but stands a bit to deep.

There was a lovely show and go from AH that should have led to a Denton try but he was forced out in the corner.

Denton isn't match sharp at all. Tried hard etc but clearly isn't match fit imo.

Leinster have confirmed the signing of James Lowe. I was hoping one of our teams would get him as he is Scottish qualified.

I hope we are courting him.

James Lang, the Fly Half that came on for Quins at Gloucester and played well down the stretch represented us at U18, so he's another one to add to the mix. I think he's 21

I have returned. I don't think I'll ever have the time I once had to ferret guys out, and be on here, but I'm glad to have found you all once more.

Well two things really, work has been a mare for years, and Rugby is now much easier to watch in the US than it used to be, which means I can watch a lot more. The Aviva is on TV here and there's a new App that lets me watch Pro12 Games, many of them and the 6N.

Mostly I think Alan Solomons' style of rugby murdered even my enthusiasm.

Glad to see you back JP.

It's interesting that the Quins replacement 10 was SQ given that a certain Ruaridh Jackson is also in their squad and fit (as far as I know)

I didn't know he was SQ. we should definitely be speaking with him as our good wingers (Seymour, Maitland, Visser) are getting older and I would say only Hoyland looks likely to develop into anything useful. Rory Hughes is to me a poor mans Slamont, not as quick, powerful or evasive as Slamont was at his peak but with all the weak points that Slamont had.

What app is it? I'm off to the USA soon and wouldn't mind keeping in touch.

I would imagine there is no chance he would agree to play for Scotland. I would put a small wager on him being a project player.

Then we've missed a beat. Not that I expect us to be able to compete with Leinster financially.
