Has anyone watched drunk history? Part of me wants to watch it, part of me thinks it sounds like the most self indulgent walk ever.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Taboo with Hardy on the Beeb is good.
Edinburgh in Exile wrote:Anyone watched Goliath? It's on Amazon Prime, only watched the first couple of episodes, it its pretty fucking good so far.
Thats on the to watch list
Finally got round to watching Taboo. I was waiting for the last episode to be put up, instant access to everything these days has left me incapable of any sort of patience for anything episodic.

Thought it was superb. Hardy is about as legible as Bane and that guy he played in Lawless, but I think that works well. Steven Graham is really good in it as well. Don't think that cat ever gets enough recognition.

Anyone else following? I think the final episode was last night. Can't quite bring myself to watch it.
Just finished season 3 of this, excellent telly, it's by the mad preacher bloke out of Deadwood.

Yep. Don't know if you read the conversation in here before but don't blast through it too quick now.

I had no interest in that taboo thing but now I've seen Stephen graham is in it I may need to have a look.

Just finished Rectify, I can't rate it highly enough, superb character acting throughout.

Season 2 episode 9 of rectify last night, they played the great destroyer by low for the closing scene, epic stuff. Best show I've seen in ages and I am ripping through it

S2 of The Last Kingdom is going well - I still don't like the actor for Uhtred; but he was good at the

Also still moving too quickly for my liking, the characters don't get a chance to breath and evolve naturally, just feels a little forced.

New series of Archer started last night.

The storyline follows on from last series cliffhanger and without adding any spoilers, it seems an interesting idea but I do kinda miss the Archer episodes in which there isn't a story arc for the entire series. That said the two/three part specials they have done have been excellent and it's not as if the story arcs for series 5 and 7 were poor.

I'm taking a strange and undeserved level of satisfaction from how much some of you are enjoying this. I wasn't sure it would get many fans.

Quarry - quite a surprise. Simple enough story, good characters and sub-plots, excellent pace. Give it a go.

Enjoying the last Kingdom but it's still a bit wide of the mark for me. Too "rushed" and Uhtred hasn't been cast right imo.

I'm growing a Viking beard to feel more part of the action.

Don't say you weren't warned. All of that stuff just gets more poignant as it goes.

If anybody is unfortunate enough to have watched (/been coerced in to watching) The OA then you have my sympathies and you have wasted your time. However the IMDB discussion/reviews are largely fantastic. It's little consolation but it's something.

Quarry sounds sort of interesting but I'm not sure I can stand that Tom Hardy-looking fella.

Has anyone caught the first two episodes of Fargo series 3?

Any good?

Also, think it was WT who posted a trailer for American Gods a little while ago. I see that has started too.

Amazon Prime today I believe, given that it's a download thing, rather than broadcast, I'll be bringing once the season's finished.

ETA: Arse, my resolve didn't last long - just watched the fist episode - excellent, and don't really want to talk about here in case I let slip spoilers

Just watched the first episode of Fargo series 3.

Decent start, even if a little mixed at times.

Just realised the American Gods star is the fella from Hollyoaks/Strictly.

What is it with Brits taking lead roles in US shows?

Won't be long till Trump kicks us out:

I've seen all of that, the main guy is quite good, Peter Mullan is a bit meh.

The new Fargo is good.

Watched the first season of Fortitude last week and just bought the 2nd series. Seems to be a totally new cast judging by the dvd case.

Also watched Reg. D. Hunter doing stand-up a few nights back. I'm sure there was a thread about this that I never read and now I can't find it. I assume the thread referred to his compulsion to stick a finger up the arse of his current woman.
Of which there have clearly been many, many, many.
Fair play to him,....he might be a dirty, over sexed feck.... but he's also a very philosophical bloke.

Just watched the first episode of American Gods.

Very godo! Little weird at times but outstanding debut and have to say Whittle and McShane were both excellent.

I know several ladies, and few gentleman, who are getting quite... erm... excited by Mr Whittle.
I must admit, I was impressed with his acting talent - given his Holyoaks background - I guess it goes to show that you should judge an actor on their first paying job.

I also know a few (Americans, obviously) who found the Bilquis scene, and the lynching at the end deeply troubling, and are thinking of boycotting the show for it's obvious sexual and racial insensitivity; it's almost like they didn't realise that that's the entire POINT of that imagery; and that it was used very knowingly.

Fargo's bubbling along very nicely indeed.

Looking forward to seeing what happens with Thewlis' character. A nonchalant, imposing, sinister fella who is only going to get better/worse, depending on how you view things.

American Gods is just excellent.

Superb cinematography. Not just the graphic scenes WT mentioned but the bits in between. It's just shot wonderfully well. Whittle continues to impress, McShane too and the fella from the original Fargo film looks interesting too.

Breaking Bad.

Almost 4 years after watching the final episode, I've finally decided to watch it all again.

Always planned on watching it again, just wanted to give it enough time so it wasn't fresh in the memory still.

So this Walter White guy. I get the feeling he's an important character then?
