That is a hell of a trip, it is over towards the general direction of Mongolia. Really long travel time.

Embra twitter teasing a signing with pace, power and "epic fends".
Presumably RF.

Great signing. What else do Edinburgh really need now? Besides a fly half.

I'd day a 10 and maybe a second row depending on what is happening with Bresler who most thought was OOC.
But there wont be a 10 come in.

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Signing a LH? Sorry but coupled with the silence on his injury that sounds very ominous for Al Dickinson.whatisthejava wrote:Darryl Marfo signs from barth on a 1 year deal

I like the noises coming from Cockers about building a culture and wanting everyone to have an attachment to the club and city.
Anyone seen that new lad play?

Very possible but could also be replacement for Cosgrove who was a FT pro not academy IIRC.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Signing a LH? Sorry but coupled with the silence on his injury that sounds very ominous for Al Dickinson.whatisthejava wrote:Darryl Marfo signs from barth on a 1 year deal

McCallum is primarily a LH and now a FT.Big D wrote:Very possible but could also be replacement for Cosgrove who was a FT pro not academy IIRC.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Signing a LH? This gives Edinburgh Dicko, Sutherland, Dell, McCallum & random bloke from bath.
Why are they not saying anything about his injury progress? We had updates on Nel.

As I say you could be right. Amongst the many reasons they may not be disclosing info could be that it's a career ender.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:McCallum is primarily a LH and now a FT.Big D wrote:Very possible but could also be replacement for Cosgrove who was a FT pro not academy IIRC.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:

McCallum will probably be used both sides of the scrum. He played THP when he was younger and IIRC moved to LHP for national duty because the guy playing TH was nae bad.

Bresler adds a year. Not that he will be in the reckoning he is SQ very soon - July/Aug I think.
Interestingly, British and Irish Lion #834 Allan Dell adds another year to extend to 2019. The SRU aren't known for extending contracts too early.

When's Bennett expected fit?
Looking forward to the season starting with a decent coach, some decent players and a proper stadium. Going to have to get through.

Bennett is back running with boots on but it is all light stuff. But good signs none the less.OptimisticJock wrote:When's Bennett expected fit?

Edinburgh really need to dig in and make a good start to the season. It is going to be interesting to see what his 1st choice 23 is:
- Do Turner or McInally make the 23?
- What is the LHP injury situation? Which of the 3 internationals will miss out when all fit?
- Will McCallum become the 2nd choice THP?
- Bresler or Gilchrist to partner Toolis
- Back row make up to partner Hamish.
- Who the hell starts at 9?
- Centre partnership? RF at 12 or 13?
- Will Graham crack the starting line up?
