I am not initiate to this institution. My assumption was based on the shout metric. Doff of the cap to Maro for shortening the class gap.

Itoje is actually an academic and comes from a family of them. He seems like a thoughtful lad when you read up on him.

He is a bright lad; Eddie has told him he needs to toughen up and this is how it manifests itself. He needs to calm down and stop shipping two penalties a game, but hell of a player.

I read in a paper a comment from Kruis that this was a planned and coached strategy to try and interfere with the New Zealand line out.

If I was the ref I'd be pinging that straight away for Unsportsmanlike Conduct. It's frankly a pretty pathetic way to act on the pitch imo and it really does smack of desperation from a team. It annoys me no end when playing and watching.
Just save that effort into trying to be better than your oppo...

Quite. And even in NZ the crowd must occasionally make some noise, so you'd have to have calls that don't rely on shouts up and down the line

Yup, and sometimes there isn't really a call so much as a bit of movement and throw up an unopposed man.

I'm amazed that pro rugby hasn't moved to baseball-style physical signs for calls rather than shouting a couple of codes. I've played for one team that relied solely on a combination of the hookers' foot position and grip on the ball while shouting decoy calls.

We used to do that from penalty kicks to touch. On the way to the line out "right lads the real call is x so ignore whatever we say in the line out".

Some teams used to use mind numbingly simple line out codes. I remember playing for my district and the oppositions calls were fruits to the front man and veg to the middle with various numbers for movement. We stole about 90% of their ball that day.

Aye our defensive system was fairly basic, two lifting pods and no movement as we'd challenge their hooker to throw it over the man. Defending in line outs, especially the old days of collapsing mauls a bit easier, used to be great fun. You'd get a shoeing but it would be worth it!

I`d believe that there might be scandal ("I thought he was a woman as well" etc.) not so sure about discord in this Pro. era.
