He wasn't the best passer mind. Later on he was okay, and he'd improved on his carrying too, but by then that astounding pace he started off with had rather left him.Banquo wrote:15 McCaws....Digby wrote:George Smith sure, but how many of them can actually pass , and actually pass not simply an offload. Outside of England, 15 Faletaus would be good. 15 Kainos. Generally, I think backrows are the most likely candidates, no?

There's probably a few Fijians that would fit the bill. Nakarawa possibly, or Levani Botia.

Well, it would satisfy his requirement that everyone else on the pitch recognised how special he was. Plus it'd make the commentators happy. Not entirely sure the 14 of him who didn't get man of the match wouldn't go running home to league though.Which Tyler wrote:15 x [Redacted]s

Just think how good a 7s team of Christian Wades would be though!Mikey Brown wrote:Imagine the number of tries that would be scored if 15 Denny Solomonas played against 15 Chris Ashtons.

They'd have been thrashed by 7 Caucaunibuca.s though - even the fat versions.TheNomad wrote:Just think how good a 7s team of Christian Wades would be though!Mikey Brown wrote:Imagine the number of tries that would be scored if 15 Denny Solomonas played against 15 Chris Ashtons.
Actually, there a call for an entire XV, put 3 fatty Caucau.s up front, with 5 solid Caucau.s behind them, and 7 svelte Caucau.s running riot at the back. His biggest problem would be at 9 - though most modern coaches would probably take his break over his lack of passing

Stuart Barnes and Geech reckon you'd only need 12 of him.Stom wrote:Surely it's 15 Owen Farrell's...Puja wrote:Just to pointlessltly riff off a comment, do we have a player for whom, if we had 15 of them, it could make a viable team? I think we can agree that Robshaw, whatever his virtues, will never make a winger. Sinckler's probably got the skills and a reasonable turn of pace, but 15 Kyle Sincklers would start fights with themselves, let alone the opposition.

Gibbs, I'll give you as a possibility. Can you imagine Croft propping though? Forget getting folded in half, with his frame he'd get folded in eighths.I R Geech wrote:15 Tom Crofts or Scott Gibbs

Gibbs might struggle in the lineout, I'm not tall and he's shorter than me

The game's no fun if you're just going to post an instant win like that!Mikey Brown wrote:Thank god. We can get back on topic. 15 Andy Sheridans anyone?Puja wrote:Flood for Germany talk moved to the new thread because Which Tyler.

Re: EPS Watch / Player Form Thread
I'm posting my comment back here, less for me to track and the question was more around the EPS than Germany anyway.
Where would Flood be on the list of contenders t play 10/12 right now?
If Eddie wants to move us forward by having a look at Manu or Te'o at 12 maybe not much, but if as a 2nd 10 he's got to be in with a shout.

Flood circa 2014/15, maybe. Flood of 2017/18, who's 32, lost a touch of pace, and isn't quite the player he used to be? Not sure about that. I'd put him behind Fazlet, Lozowski, Francis, and Slade as a second 10 inside centre.

As a FH; losing out to Slade to be 6th choice behind Ford, Farrell, Lozowski, Cipriani's and Burns
As an IC; losing out to Jonny Williams to be 7th choice behind Tuilagi, Te'o, Farrell, Lozowski, Slade, Devoto
AS 10/12 cover for the bench/squad; beating Devoto to be 4th choice behind Farrell, Lozowski and Slade

Jonny Williams?! If we're selecting based on what people were doing in the 15/16 season, then Flood'd have a better shout anyway!Which Tyler wrote:As a FH; losing out to Slade to be 6th choice behind Ford, Farrell, Lozowski, Cipriani's and Burns

And if we're talking about right now, Marcus Smith would be ahead at 10 (4th choice according to Eddie) and Piers Francis would likely be ahead as a 10/12.
I'm pleased to have Flood back in the Premiership and I think he will do a very good job for Falcons, but I don't see him getting back in to the mix for England. He has as much chance as Luther Burrell or Billy Twelvetrees.

Plus, no-one's mentioned the obvious option of Mark Atkinson yet.

Something for the fantasy rugby teams - BillyV to miss the first month of the season in order to recuperate from injury. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/41006352
