How... Just, how can Slack Bladder have come to that answer?

Hill? Willis? Coles? All good answers.
Root though? I just don't get it.

He's not picking on form, the criteria seems to be heavily based around whether or not someone's been in the squad previously. Doesn't explain why Coles hasn't been called up mind. Then again Heyes is probably the form EQ TH in the league and has been dropped after two years of inclusion despite being meh.

They are waiting on a scan results for Chessum to see how bad it is. Fingers crossed, not very.

Roots call up is really irritating. a) hes not a lock b) he's in no kind of form c) he hardly sparkled when he did get the chance d) there are better players available.

I hadn’t seen this until this morning. Firstly, gutted about Chessum. Feels like having him, Martin and Itoje all fit at the same time is impossible. Roots though … WTAF?

It’s annoying we can’t pick Jack Willis but pure madness that we don’t pick Tom!

Several selections mystify! What we don't see, of course, is performance/attitude/application in training. Can that be the answer?

If not, I suppose Roots has covered lock in the past.

If he's just there as a backrower, I simply don't understand how he can be ahead of Willis, Pearson and Pollock. Mind you, I don't understand how B Curry and Dombrandt can be either, so what do I know.

I searched for "ethan roots" stories from the last 24 hours and the only one that came up was a planet rugby one which says nothing really:

"If Borthwick does opt to bring in a new face to replace Chessum, he has plenty of options at his disposal. In the second-row, Alex Coles is the likely front-runner after his return to fitness, as is in-form Saracens man Hugh Tizard.

In the back-row, where Chessum is also an option, the likes of Ted Hill, Ethan Roots, Jack Kenningham, Tom Pearson or even red-hot Tom Willis are all options to come in."

Think Mikey has caught several fish here.

Coles was taken off early for him. wonder if it was under instructions

So it's not actually Roots? Firstly, TFFT, but I think that deserves a ban for worrying the shit out kf us. Where's there a mod when you need one?!?!?

Maybe, the real issue is that Roots's 'call-up' WAS so believable!!! There are a few strange selections/omissions leading to it being consistent.

If Chessum was more likely to play 6 than lock, and that was down largely to having a third test quality jumper in the pack, then Ted Hill seems like a fairly logical replacement.

Or at least, he's admitted forgetting (or "forgetting") a question mark when suggesting Roots.

He's caught a few though, whether the fishing was deliberate or accidental.

George Ford and Alex Coles as well. Chessum, Ewels (head injury), and Roebuck released.
