Dunno if their heroics are mentioned in the movie, but the shweaties must be amongst the bravest fighting men on the planet:

The Argyle and Bolton Wanderers were pretty prominent in the filum (they were the bunch who ended up on the beached boat), though quite a few of them had Cockney accents.

I have to say that while the film was good, I don't think it quite lived up to the hype (Perhaps no film could?).

When I was a kid , an elderly neighbour told us that as a seventeen year old he was aboard a small ship that was sent to Dunkirk . Upon arrival soldiers waded out to the ship and he was given a loaded revolver and ordered to shoot anyone boarding after a full compliment of men boarded . Thankfully he told us kids that he never had to fire the gun .

I did think of him I must admit watching the film . I ' enjoyed ' the film which really has to be seen on the big screen but it did bring home the hopelessness of the situation and the sad loss of life .
