I’m struggling to get a decent side out this round. I picked Matu’u as my sub hooker and he got me a paltry 1 point. Went for Vui over Leiua (obviously not in the same position) which wasn’t horrible but not a great move either. Hopefully my Fijian gambles come off.
Did. No response yet. Cleared cache and no help.
But it seems to be fixed anyway

Wow ... Fiji sh*tting the bed has screwed me this round. I expected good points hauls from Nakarawa and Radradra in particular but they’ll be mediocre at best. Worse from Veitokani.

Why, oh why, didn't I pick Polledri? He's going to score 100 points in this massacre.

I went with Steyn (good), Minozzi (potentially good) and Lovotti (a waste). Really wanted to pick Polledri but for some reason the only position I have a surplus in this week is flanker

Does anyone know which matches are in the gameweek? Is there a way to tell easily?
So NZ aren't in the gameweek and neither are France or Scotland? That screws me royally...

Nope, I think there was an message sent to everyone so check your inbox actually on the site. I did read it but it went a bit over my head to be honest. I'm also a bit confused as to why the Australia and wales teams players are still showing with a yellow dot on the site instead of green, grey or red.

He clarified...no games for NZ, France or Scotland this gameweek...meaning I'm a little screwed.
I'm now up to 34 bloody players! And one of them is Reece Hodge! Another is the bench Japanese SH! Another is a Georgian hooker I only selected so I'd have a front row of starters!

I've screwed myself royally - I had a cunning plan to bring in 9 players from Argentina, Tonga, and Namibia to get a starting XXIII and worked it out exactly to make sure I didn't have more than 3 from any nation. Then, I started signing, only to realise that there's a max squad limit and that I'd hit it after signing the Namibians, but before signing any Argentines. And that's now buggered me for the rest of the group stages as my transfers now have to be one out, one in.
Worse still, I did have some South Africans who are benched against Uruguay who could have filled extra spaces, but the Namibians I signed first cover the same spots, so I've got holes in my XXIII. Schoolboy errors all around.

you can "cancel" transfers during the same gameweek if they haven't played yet.
I bought in a Japanese player, only to swap the player after seeing that NZ, FRA and SCO weren't playing. Otherwise I was truly screwed.

Just transfer him back out again. I believe he explains it here:
If you wish to reverse a transfer, simply re-sign or release the player in the same game week.

Which explains why the Wales Aus players still have a yellow dot.
Yup, I have fallen for that one too. looks like my points for round 2 will be very very low.

Your advice allowed me to transfer Julian Montoya into my starting XV instead of a Namibian bench lock. So, thank you!

I bet you were glad with that transfer after Montoya’s hat trick Puja!
I’ve made the same mistakes as most people. I signed 6 players last week to get out a full 23, but I wish I’d not bothered with half of them ... Matu’u, Ardron and Veitokani scored 12 points between them (2 of them were on the bench). I would rather have had 12 less points but 3 spots to make better signings.
I’ve already binned off Matu’u, but I’m hoping selection is kinder to me this week so I don’t have to bring in anyone else and can slowly free up space in my squad without it costing my points.

I'd left a couple of spots spare - 3rd hooker, 4th prop, 4th lock, but I've filled them now. It does give me tough decisions...if a lot of my players are picked! All depends on NZ, SA, etc.

In hindsight, I shouldn’t have picked the 6 players I went for from NZ and SA. I went for big names, none of them scored particularly highly and I’m now wondering how many of them will actually play much over the next few rounds ...
I probably would have been better off going for less illustrious players who will play more matches or players from countries that are less equipped to rotate.

Ditto. I already swapped one of my Saffas, but the Kiwis are more difficult. 2 of them will probably be involved in most, if not all 23s, though, if not the XV.

Possibly, I’ve got Beauden Barrett, Aaron Smith and Ardie Savea.
I can easily see Barrett being rested and Perenara and Todd are fairly likely to replace Smith and Savea.
I really should have been more strategic!

Lol, we have the same 3!
NZ only have 2 10s, so Barrett would be on the bench, right. And I thought Savea more likely to be the bench BR for his versatility.

Probably ... in hindsight I should have gone for Perenara over Smith as he’s almost guaranteed to get 20-30mins as a sub and will likely start the pool games against Canada and Italy.

Week 4’s going to be a very modest one for me ...rotation has screwed me badly and my big gamble of George Bridge as catptain didn’t really pay off ... I was hoping he’d rack up a big score against Namibia, but I picked the wrong NZ player. To make it worse, I took a 20pt hit on TJ Perenara to sign him so my net gain was -2. Awesome!

Does anyone know what happens after the pool stage? Are you allowed to make changes? Can you have more than 3 players per nation?
I can't find it, but with only 8 nations to pick from, you could only have a maximum of 24 players. Just trying to fill out my squad for this round and don't want to be left with players who will never play again...

Ah, found it.
Unlimited transfers, 5 max from each nation.
