They've not updated their squad lists, which makes it mightily confusing... I need to drop Isa but who for?

Yeah - I’m not sure what’s happening with the squads since USA are the only side yet to announce theirs.
I’ve picked 90% of mine, but I’ll probably change it before the actual games kick off once the lineups are out.

Reminder to get your team's in.

If the Welsh team isn't announced till Saturday, yet the deadline for the gameweek is in an hour...what do we do? Just not select any Welsh players?

I'm glad I did and it was on purpose and I used my fantasy rugby coach skills (complete accident, I used up my quota of tier one players for each nation and had to pick up another couple of players, I chose at random).Stom wrote:I was so close to picking Matsushima...I wish I bloody had now

I hadn't picked my quota of tier 1 players! So I did!!! Just hope my other tier 2 wing rips Aussie a new one tomorrow! He's only on the bench, mind.Shiny wrote:I'm glad I did and it was on purpose and I used my fantasy rugby coach skills (complete accident, I used up my quota of tier one players for each nation and had to pick up another couple of players, I chose at random).Stom wrote:I was so close to picking Matsushima...I wish I bloody had now

I'm still waiting for Wales to pick their sodding team to see if my other winger is playing or not (I had Matsushima as a centre in my team).Stom wrote:I hadn't picked my quota of tier 1 players! Yeah, what happens if a Welsh starter is not picked and I wanted a bench player who has already played to start instead and to replace him with another player?Shiny wrote:I'm still waiting for Wales to pick their sodding team to see if my other winger is playing or not (I had Matsushima as a centre in my team).Stom wrote:I hadn't picked my quota of tier 1 players! I wondered that but looking at my squad list you can still change players except those who have already played. So on my squad Matsushima has a padlock on him but I can still change all my other players.Stom wrote:Yeah, what happens if a Welsh starter is not picked and I wanted a bench player who has already played to start instead and to replace him with another player?Shiny wrote:I'm still waiting for Wales to pick their sodding team to see if my other winger is playing or not (I had Matsushima as a centre in my team).Stom wrote:

So how can I sub Radrada in for Williams? Because I don't want to bring in an player from outside. Especially as Wales are the last match...
I'd rather start with the Welsh wing but there is a chance neither of my selected Welsh backs will play, in which case I'd want the one on the bench on my bench and Radrada starting. But if Wales don't announce their team before the k/o of the AusvFiji game, how can I do that?

Yeah, I’m in a similar position. I don’t think there is a way round it. I suppose it’s the same for everyone and it’s going to change weekly as teams play on different days. I think all that can be done is only pick welshies on the bench and next week maybe aussies (or another mob) are bench players if they have a Monday game. Personally I’m banking on Gatland (not Howley lol) picking the players I want him to.Stom wrote:So how can I sub Radrada in for Williams? Because I don't want to bring in an player from outside. Re: Rugby Magazine: World Cup Fantasy Rugby
Ed, the guy who runs the game posted a video a couple of weeks back explaining how the game weeks work for the RWC.
The Round 2 fixtures basically run across six days so there’s no way we’ll know the sides for the weekend in time for the games during the middle of the week. Basically you pick a full 23, but only the players who are actually playing are ‘locked in’. I’ve got a couple of Samoans playing today, so I’ve just picked them and the Fijians playing tomorrow and randomly filled in the blanks until the other teams have been released.
This game week is super tough. If I’d thought about it, I would have factored in the rotation, but as it stands, it’s going to need a combination of luck and some cleverness for me to get out a 23 of players who are actually going to feature this week and not saddle myself with a bunch of guys who aren’t going to play much more.

Yeah, it gets more complicated too when you want the third choice NZ wing because they'll likely score a boatload against the tier 2 teams but won't play the tougher games. Think the mix of my squad is wrong.Scrumhead wrote:Ed, the guy who runs the game posted a video a couple of weeks back explaining how the game weeks work for the RWC.

Exactly this - I made the mistake of picking Barrett, Coles and Savea without think that they may not play again until the quarters. Same with Marx, du Toit and Kolbe. None of them really scored the points to justify me picking them.

Re: Rugby Magazine: World Cup Fantasy Rugby
I can't make any changes.
I'm going to sign a few minnows now. Problem is...they all play in the same bloody positions!
Anyway, may need a prop, may need a lock, may need a BR, may need a SH, may need a FH. But I won't know for days. So I can't pick any more Fijians in those positions without knowing...

Sorry, to clarify, I get an error message when trying to change my team. Can't swap players out. Was swapping out around 4/5 of my players and they just reappeared.

I’m not sure. Email Ed? He’s always responsive.
I’m struggling to get a decent side out this round. I picked Matu’u as my sub hooker and he got me a paltry 1 point. Went for Vui over Leiua (obviously not in the same position) which wasn’t horrible but not a great move either. Hopefully my Fijian gambles come off.
