At least you can count the cars on the pier, how many red ones today?

In all seriousness, I think it's a crying shame Auckland hasn't made more of it's waterfront. Surely there is somewhere else to unload container ships. And to be fair, if you look to the left they've started to make an effort. But still, it's nasty. Sydney, Chicago, those cities are examples of how to make use of your cities waterfront. Toronto, like Auckland, has a big industrial park immediately in front of the downtown core, well it's separated from it by a six lane elevated highway, which is even worse.

Some cashed up foreigner/drug baron will buy it from the city and jazz it up, don't worry.

Bwgr. Am in Auckland for a couple days en route to Dunedin to watch Wales wrap the series up 3-0 and your picture reminded me how little there is to do down there. I'll have to stock up at 7/11.

So today I'm being forced to take a half day off to fly down for the Wellington office Xmas party. First, the valet parking was booked out so I've had to make do with "undercover executive" adding about a minute to my journey. Next, there's no bloody window tables left in the lounge and the complimentary pinot noir is unacceptably low rent (Villa Maria Gold) so I've had to go for the Merlot instead. Now I see that I'll be sat way back in row 11 which makes me wonder what the fucking point of Gold Status even is. I almost hope I get delayed about 30 minutes so it will be easier to justify just going to my favourite craft beer haunt for pre-loading when I get to Welly rather than making a token appearance at the office.

My heart bleeds. I too have half a day off. Xmas drinks with school friends. One of them is having a meltdown about having to come so far north. I will be catching the 11.45 from my quaint market town and will be travelling on a train deemed too ancient for the tube over ten years ago. No first class, no complimentary glasses of wine. There is patchy WiFi, though.

I'm at my limit here. I've just spent 30 minutes grappling with a complex task, while ignoring incoming calls so as to maintain my intense concentration. In the end I had to stop in order to attend to some trifling, pointless bit of admin (honestly, what sort of employee really wants an "annual review" meeting anyway?). When I returned the missed calls I found out the caller was one my colleagues apologising for having not completed the same complex task I was already working on, at which point I suddenly recalled having delegated it to him about 1/4 of the way through a fairly serious Friday Drinks session last week. So I've just been wasting my time.

My biggest issue at work is my office directly overlooks one of the busiest boulevards in the city and there is a constant deluge of gorgeous young women teeming along the sidewalks. It can be very distracting :?

No, because then I'd be hanging out on netball forums, since its a female-dominated sport. So, Coco, hadn't noticed you chatting much about rugby anywhere on this forum

In Coco's defence, she is less likely to be having a wank under the desk whilst looking out the window at work.

The hell does that have to do with you being lecherous?

Hey, Coco, trivia question for you:

How many players are in a rugby team? I sense you'd need a clue to answer this, so - it's between 14 and 16.

There, that should keep her busy for a while . . . ;)

Being anywhere other than an air conditioned room should be considered as intolerable working conditions today.

Judging by the date of my most recent post in this thread, work has been going pretty well lately. Until this morning. I had to set 3 alarms to make sure I was up by bloody 5.45AM(!) to appear on live telly. Sod being an “expert commentator,” I mean who watches breakfast television anyway?

Do they have live telly in NZ, there's fancy.

First pics of Liz’s ‘live television’ debut have just been released:

I was actually rocking an exceptionally strong sock game, thank you. Unfortunately there were no ankle shots for me to share.

I was basically just discussing how you can increase your social-reach bandwidth by strategically recontextualizing your learnings in an agile framework to synergisticly solutionise your way to moving the needle on disruptive innovation. Obviously, this was all blueskying outside the usual paradigm of unprisoning your thinking choices.

From a helicopter viewpoint, the synergy there is well outside the box moving forward to a bigger picture.
They'll be glad you grabbed the low-hanging fruit and brought that to the table.
