Point of English: making the post above I realised that I was slightly hazy about the distinction between systematic and systemic, about how much overlap there was between the two terms. Systemic means relating to a whole system, eg when something is true or appears throughout a system.
Systematic means done using a system, with a plan, a method.
So sometimes both terms apply, sometimes one or the other, or neither.
That's enough of that, back to the politics
