Ire 40 - 22 Fiji
73 min.
Ireland 2 scores away from neutralising our 26 point advantage.
England 1 try away from making that actually relevant

Ire 47 - 27 Fiji
80 min, but conversion to come
Any TBP win for England will do it.

I have no idea how that was just a yellow, clearly tucked his arm.

Utterly dreadful 2nd half. Brainless at times, taking wrong options for fun and committing dull errors. Really very disappointing after getting into a good position after the 3rd try.

Threw that away with silly penalties and inaccuracy in both general handling and lineouts. We had 3-4 opportunities for the fourth try where it was all on and then we fucked it by doing something average.
Some really good individual moments for us in that match, but as a team performance, we'll get minced by the French in the semis.

for silly penalties and inaccuracy, the players, obviously. Coaches are accountable of course....so all to blame if thats one's thing.

I missed the afternoon games (NZ v Jap, Fra v Wal and SA v Arg) - which ones are worth finding on catch-up?

France v Wales was a good match. Bit one sided, but good fun. NZ v Jap was very one sided. Japan had some cracking moments, but they were largely moments. SA v Arg was alright. Decent match. Quite a number of errors.

Why the hell have we thought this is a sensible game to make changes at 1 and 10. From what I remember, McArthur really struggled in the 6N.

Bringing in Johnson for the underwhelming Slevin makes sense to me. Think Jenkins at OC is a good change and having 2 actual wingers should help.
Whoever plays is going to have to raise their level if we're to have a chance of overturning the French.

It doesn’t work until it works as Flatman would say.

I thought the smart ballwas supposed to take care of those live, certainly without needing a TMO

Great try. Didn’t need a smart ball for that.

That's better.
This time, we create an overlap, then actually use it rather than taking contact

Especially if he keeps playing and kicking like this.
