Not a bad step tbh....is he EQ?
Love how the pitch invader gets the biggest cheer when he starts and chorus of boos as he is taken down, then more cheers as he's led off.
Bloody zealots.

Las Vegas police have issued a warrant, which has been sent to Turin police, for Ronaldo's DNA after a sample on the dress of a woman claiming to have gotten the Big Ron treatment in Vegas.

Ronaldo's responded back saying that his story has always been that he had consensual sex with her, so of course his DNA would be there. Very hard to prove one way or the other, although if the ex does have recordings of threats and him admitting to things, that will make a difference.cashead wrote:Which she stated she will be handing over to authorities as well as the prosecution in Ronaldo's rape case.Puja wrote:A lot of claims about him being verbally and physically abusive, including threats to kill her, which she says she had recordings of.WaspInWales wrote:

I tend towards believing the accuser in these things just on the basis that the number of fake claims is vanishingly rare and the horrendous treatment the accuser tends to get makes them a) even rarer and b) in need of someone taking their side, but I'm aware it's hardly a foolproof method.

Do you know of any research proving this? I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but there have been a handful of high profile cases where people have had their lives put on hold for years, whilst under a charge of rape, only for it to fall through when defence counsel have been allowed access to all evidence which proves the accuser is lying. Off the back of this a substantial number more charges have failed.Puja wrote:I tend towards believing the accuser in these things just on the basis that the number of fake claims is vanishingly rare and the horrendous treatment the accuser tends to get makes them a) even rarer and b) in need of someone taking their side, but I'm aware it's hardly a foolproof method.cashead wrote:Which she stated she will be handing over to authorities as well as the prosecution in Ronaldo's rape case.Puja wrote:

I know that % of rape claims that lead to conviction are very low but that is obviously mostly for reasons other than the supposed victim lying. No idea on the numbers of those that are just lying.

Re: Puffball & ME . . . .
I don't have it to hand, but I have seen the research and the number of false claims was well under 1%. Not sure how they arrived at that figure given the difficulty in proving rape accusations one way or another, but I find it plausible. Accusing someone of rape, especially someone famous, is such an awful fucking business with such a small rate of success that I can see it dissuading liars. Not sure how I'll work it if our society ever stops treating rape victims like dogshit though.Mellsblue wrote:Do you know of any research proving this? There are highly publicised cases, but those are like the Muslim paedophile ring, where every instance is writ large in the papers to push an agenda that it's widespread. It's difficult though, because while you're statistically 99.X% likely to say "I believe her," it's got to be exceptionally shit being the accused in the 0.X% cases.

The agenda was people potentially going to prison for crimes they didn’t commit (not the A-Team). The reason being the the police and CPS didn’t do their job. The headline case was a bloke (and I don’t 100% remember all the facts) who had put his life and degree on hold for 18 months/2 years whilst on a rape charge only for it to all fall to pieces when his barrister demanded all the evidence, and there were numerous text messages from the accuser telling her friends about the consequential sex she’s had with her supposed rapist. This led to a whole host of similar cases falling through for similar reasons. There was no saying it was widespread just that a miscarriage of justice was narrowly averted and may have occurred in the past. If it makes you feel at better, it was blamed on govt budget cuts, though not Brexit, weirdly.

Re: Puffball & ME . . . .
There have been various studies, and it's been found that generally, 90~98% of rape accusations have some merit to them, but there is variation on the methodology. Some researchers have included cases where the investigators weren't able to gather evidence, which could potentially muddy the waters a bit.
Of course, there's also the fact that we're only really seeing just over 1/3 of estimated cases of rape, only a fraction of which end up going to trial, and even then, only just another fraction of that reaches a guilty verdict. In the UK, according to a study conducted in 2016 by Rape Crisis, only 17% go to the police.

The agenda that I was thinking of was certain sections of the media (mentioning no Daily Heils) whose reactions to Me Too was to denounce it as a hysterical attack on men.Overall, in the CPS’ view, false allegations of rape are “serious but rare”. They estimate that there is one prosecution for a false rape claim out of every 161 rape cases prosecuted. That means — according to the best available data — false allegations make up 0.62 per cent of all rape cases.

That was insane football. Don't often get to see Barcelona taken apart like that....just absolutely sensational stuff.
Liverpool absolutely deserved it too, no hint of luck or dodgy decisions. They played with such desire and will to win.
Best match I've seen for a long time!

Ridiculous games. Football has it's flaws but it's the greatest sport for setting up drama and tension. The end of the ajax vs spurs game will go down in history. Elation and grown men crying.

Well that was a bit of a turnip - Leeds 2-4 Derby.
Rams now take on Villa in the play-off final on Bank hol. Mon 27th at Wembley.
Lamps v. JT...I hope we see him in the Villa strip with the lads at full-time.
The 5th & 6th place teams push out 3rd & 4th.- seems to happen a bit does that.
