Dear god some of these people are just completely divorced from reality. He's sad because he wants to fuck working people over for personal gain, he just wants a facade of civility from the paid for plant embedded in the Oval Office. How very touching.

It's almost like you're not buying the heart warming moment when his eyes fill with tears at the thought of being a marginally worse off billionaire and says he has a problem 'because he cares'

If anyone is getting tired of cleaning the mess out of their old Mike Pence Fuck Doll, the new Lindsay Graham model will take it any where you want to put it and thank you afterwards.

The things that 'man' comes out with is just absolutely staggering. He makes Trump look like a man of conviction!

The man's reputation as not just a politician, but as a functioning adult is on the line and all he can contribute is hail mary conspiracy tweets. It's incredible just how ineffectual this guy really is. I t would be sad if he weren't such an unmitigated fuckwit.

11 seconds Mikey. I lasted 11 seconds on that one. The whole day was punctuated by such withering cross examinations. It's taken all of this to get to a defense along the lines of "the Prez didn't mean any harm cos he is just a bit of a thick cunt."

I mean, the Republicunts don't have a defence do they? All we're getting is either "he's too stupid to do it," or "well, it could've been worse," and while Ttump keeps shouting "nuh-uh, I didn't do nuthin!" we've also got AN ON-FUCKING-CAM-FUCKING-ERA CONFESSION from that thick cunt.

The Senate is supposed to be composed of cool, forward looking heads.

You cannot possibly suggest they should tackle an issue while emotions fly high. That would be unamerican and against the principles of this great country.

2ndAmendmentLuverBoi

P.S.: while a lot can be said on the gun subject, tackling any issue on the back of an emotional wave is not the best way. B and his first majority did that a lot, and believe me it was not a good idea. Populism at work is an ugly way to tackle hard priorities.

P.P.S.: what do republicans stand for these days? Religious freedom (as long as you are Christian), defense of 2nd Amendment (to be precise, they defend the right to own and carry high power weapons of the individuals), pro life stance (that is antiabortion). So they are being coherent in this case.

That doesn't surprise me in the least. Gun retards are their besties. You couldn't expect a cogent contribution from the fat clown right now as it would mean multitasking. What an irrelevance he is. He is focusing on more pressing matters, like squeezing some last coin out of his "brand" before the sun sets:

In its effort to sell off the lease to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, the Trump Organization has put together a glossy investor brochure complete with pictures showcasing the hotel's grandiose architecture, its central location and its spa's Himalayan salt chamber.
The hotel's biggest selling point though, according to a copy of the brochure seen by CNN, is the one thing that the Trump family insists it didn't take advantage of: profiting off foreign governments.

“Tremendous upside potential exists for a new owner to fully capitalize on government related business upon rebranding of the asset,” reads the 46-page investor pitch for the Trump International Hotel, which was compiled by JLL Hotels & Hospitality

You have to laugh. Don't you...?

It's possible I'm misreading that sales pitch, but it seems to imply the opposite to what CNN's saying. "Tremendous upside potential for new owner... upon rebranding," suggests that they don't currently capitalise on government related business (which for a hotel in Washington has got to be quite a bit of the market).

Correct, they claim they turned away $5M in business, but a new owner would not have to.

I have to say I do not find them credible, seen that the Trump hotel is a favorite stakeout of lots of journalists to spot “power players”.

That might hold water if there wasn't a recent history of foreign dignitaries renting out huge spaces in the hotel. I agree that the article does try to squeeze to too hard though. Kushner has given many a member of the house of Saud a handjob in there. Bear in mind too that the White House was actively pushing for the next G7 to be hosted at Trumpet's Mar a Lago house of Tack a couple of months back. I think it's pretty safe to say they are for sale to the highest bidder in any context.

Oh no doubt that Trump et al are rooking the presidency for every cent they can possibly get away with and this hotel is almost certainly part of that, but was just confused as the sales brochure doesn't appear to be the Gotcha that they're presenting it as. He's done enough real shady stuff that no-one needs to stretch something like this out.

So when should gun legislation be discussed in the US? There fact that there have been enough masss shootings in the US this year that at one point, it was at a ratio of 1.24 shootings per day, should give you an idea of just how urgent gun control legislation is. But hey, I guess they need to earn their NRA blood money some how, right?

Even NRA members are in favour of more gun control than Republicans are offering, the actual members don't hold to the same message as the NRA leadership, either on guns or providing such luxurious lifestyles for the NRA leadership

Also, not that Fox News thinks Trump is guilty and doesn't therefore want coverage of the hearings, but they spent time discussing not the testimony but the amount of water George Kent drank whilst attending the hearing, said coverage was boring, and switched to another story, the big one about escaped boars in Italy

When?
Republicans should be the minority both in House and Senate. And they should not hold the presidency.
And you still will have the small issue of the SCOTUS.

Something impressive has just happened in the impeachment hearings. Marie Yovanovitch, the former ambassador to Ukraine, who was undercut by Giuliani briefing against her until Trump fired her, is testifying today and what we already know she's going to say doesn't look good for the Donster. She's very highly thought of as a diplomat, an anti-corruption crusader. So, of course, Trump attacks her on twitter, (liveblogging the hearing that he is officially not watching because he's too busy with important Presidenty business).

Five minutes later, the chair of the hearing introduces that tweet as evidence of witness intimidation.

Even Fox News is impressed, with one of their anchors calling it "a turning point in the hearing. She was already a sympathetic witness and the President's tweet ripping her allowed Schiff to point it out in real time as witness tampering or intimidation."
