Re: France v Ireland
I think he's been alright to be honest.
See that late hit on Sexton a while back... That's exactly the reason why I have a problem with refs seeing it on big screens and changing their minds. The French director chose not to show that, had it been in Ireland they would have slowed it down and still be playing it now until Piper noticed it.
SOB a big loss for Ireland. He's just got back from an injury.

French line speed in defence has been superb.

Yep, the passage there that ended in that drop goal attempt exemplified it.OptimisticJock wrote:Yeah but they're a bit clueless going forward.
... Dare I say, they looked a bit like us last week. All a bit listless.

There was another at the breakdown. Both yellow cards at least all day long. the high tackle on Dave Kearney probably was too.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:I've only seen one, but it was a shocker.Eugene Wrayburn wrote:How many cheap shots from the french so far?

Oh and Fergus McFadden? seriously with all the attacking ability we have on the wing in Ireland how the hell does he still get a game?

Ah, I'm not watching the half time chat... Did I just ape what he said?OptimisticJock wrote:Clearly Keit Wood has signed up to RREdinburgh in Exile wrote:I think he's been alright to be honest.

The reason I'm not watching the half time chat is because I got a baguette this morning and was cutting it whilst half watching the last penalty, and managed to slice the tip of my thumb off... You'd think I've hit an artery. My thumb needs to calm the fuck down. Still... A baguette... French bastards.

I have the same issue with Keith Earls. I'm not sure what people see in that cat. Nothing against the man personally, just think there are far better options.Eugene Wrayburn wrote:Oh and Fergus McFadden? seriously with all the attacking ability we have on the wing in Ireland how the hell does he still get a game?

Earl is fast and elusive. He had a great RWC. Ferg has no weapons whatsoever.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:I have the same issue with Keith Earls. I'm not sure what people see in that cat. ... And now I've got blood all over my Ayepad...
Baz you're a paramedic, realistically, can all of my blood come out of my thumb? Is it all over for me? I feel like it's all over. Why Baz, whhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyy?

Realistically? You need to get a tourniquet on that, or should have done about 6 minutes ago. If you've not done it now you're most likely fucked.

He's always struck me as a player you'd have no problem with being your back up choice and wouldn't grumble about if everyone before him is injured.Eugene Wrayburn wrote:Earl is fast and elusive. He is our back up! If Bowe and Trimble are fit he isn't getting a look in. I think Schmidt prefers Earls to Zebo but i probably wouldn't. We only have the likes of Ferg on in the injury apocalypse we're undergoing, but there are still plenty I'd have ahead of him.OptimisticJock wrote:He's always struck me as a player you'd have no problem with being your back up choice and wouldn't grumble about if everyone before him is injured.Eugene Wrayburn wrote:Earl is fast and elusive. I sensibly put a fiver on our ability to cock up. I'm £20 up.OptimisticJock wrote:That's the last time I put a fiver on my Irish heritage.
We can't complain. Unlucky with injuries but we didn't even vaguely deserve to win that. Maybe when we decide we're going to use the ball and turn dominance in every facet in the game as we had in the first half into points then we'll win games like that.

Frustrating game to watch as a neutral that. Felt like it keep threatening to break open but never really did, much like last weekend.
