And Leinster did seem to be getting the "rub of the green" on 50-50 decisions. Just I coincidence, I'm sure.

If he is from Dublin, and I can't be arsed to check, then he must be registered elsewhere to referee and must have come through the ranks elsewhere. I can tell you that just because you live somewhere doesn't mean that you feel well disposed to their rugby team.

He is a member of the Leinster referees society. Regardless of performance, and there were some daft calls, it's not fair putting a ref in such a position.

You've made me check it now. He's a Leinster man through and through. Born in Dublin, played at St Mary's. Unbelievable. The league's administration has reached new depths. I didn't see enough of the game to say whether he was baised or just rubbish - unlike Ben Whitehouse, who now I've looked was a Swansea boy refereeing the Os - but the problem with non-neutral refs is that you end up in a world of perpetual blame of officials and scandal.

Correct. It's unfair on everyone concerned.

The most rediculous thing is, wouldn't it have been far easier if Ben Whiehouse had gone to ref the Cardiff match while Dudley Philips went to Ulster for the O's game? Far less traveling, less chance of people calling bias.

Makes you wonder wtf the pro12 organisers actually do

You're assuming they can find them

Also, Is it just me or does Ben Whitehouse always come across as a complete asshole?

Apparently the reason for not having more Scottish and Italian refs is that it will take three years to get them up to standard. Three years to get to Whitehouse's standard?!

I thought the writer was taking the piss, then I remembered the Changalang brothers...
