Shame on the Beeb for the tone of their articles 'does Rosberg deserve it?'.

No complaints about what Hamilton did either and if it was the other way round and Rosberg was slowing down in order to try to win the title, I would feel the same.

I can't stand Lewis so I'm quite pleased Nico won.

I'm not a great fan of Hamilton either, but I see no difference in what he did today than what occurs in many sports in terms of gamesmanship and things like time wasting.

A world championship was at stake so I think he was entitled to do what he wanted at the front of the race.

I agree. I can see why the team might be pissed off but no one else has any right to be.

If Nico /Lewis gave Wolf heartburn, I can't imagine he would consider Vettel.

I thought Lewis drove a great race. It made for exciting racing and frankly, no-one blames Nico for 'unsportsmanlike' driving settling for 2nd place 4 in a row. He did what he needed to do to win the championship. Lewis was trying to do the same. If Mercedes needed points for the constructors' - then its a different story.

And Alonso with McLaren. Good chance we'll find out how strong some of those contracts are, though there is Ferrari are getting more out of paying Vettel so much than McLaren are with Alonso.

Hulkenberg might be in with a shout if they wait a season for some bigger names to come off contract, and if Hulkenberg has a storming start maybe they just stick with him, and Grosjean might be in the same boat. And then there's Bottas who might have an out of a big team comes calling again.

All things being equal I think I'd go for Ricciardo. Fast, consistent, works well with the team, does his media work, doesn't whine too much, and is younger than Lewis, he isn't German of course and that would be an issue (although you had to squint a bit to regard Rosberg as German so...)

I've seen various articles wondering who Lewis will get on with. Since I think the answer to that is no one there doesn't seem much point in taking it into account. Vettel's probably the best fit, but a year of Hulkenberg in the interim might suit.

Bottas would be an outside bet. They have an established relationship with Williams and can bung them Wherlein or Ocon.

Outside bet if they can't deal for a current F1 driver would be Paul Di Resta. Williams test driver.

That was a fantastic race. I think Hamilton would have caught Vettel without the crash. He was gaining at 1½ secs a lap. Marvelous stuff.
