Peyper, Garces and Poite will control the tests (not many other options really except Gardner, I suppose), each reffing one with the other two running touch.
There was some controversy over the reffing in 2005 when locals controlled the non-tests. This time the only non-neutrals will be the assistants and TMO for the Provincial XV match, under Gardner. Other refs appointed are Gauzere and Raynal. The refs will share assistant duties but TMOs also include Jonker, Ian Smith and Ayoub.

Re: Match Officials
I really don't mind if refs are neutral or not. The best refs available should be used IMO.

Re: Match Officials
Agreed. Place of birth is a bit of an anachronism when it comes to the elite panel.
Let's hope Garces gets the first test and sets the tone for the rest.
I'd be more than happy if Gardener gets to ref one. I want them to be fast games with a lot of ball in play.
