The Scarlets side is pretty much an U20s side.
Good to see Carre on the bench for the Blues, he's a man mountain that lad.

What is the point of this now? Is it a development competition or a first team one? Looking at last weekends fixture it seems no one really knows.

YES. .that's a fair evaluation
It has been supposedly a development competition certainly for most. It is really what each team consider development to be... either a fully development or a mix and match .
What I see some of the some team selections it seems more of a little bit of development mix with regular bench warmers and second choices and injury returns.

it really highlights the depth of Aviva squads compared to our teams.

Thanks, yeah, I used to be interested in the Anglo Welsh, when it was on TV and the clubs actually cared. Now it's pretty irrelevant.Numbers wrote:The odd match on Sky Sports, they showed Scarlets v Exeter last weekend.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Is this on TV at all?

Yeah, for the Welsh sides it's almost impossible when the likes of Exeter field Jack Nowell.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Thanks, yeah, I used to be interested in the Anglo Welsh, when it was on TV and the clubs actually cared. Wasn't quite that bad - that was Exeter 2nds, but it was just against Llanelli 4ths/Colts. It is a weird mix-up of a competition though - Leicester vs Bath was academy vs almost first team. You can see why neither fans nor sponsors are particularly interested.Numbers wrote:Yeah, for the Welsh sides it's almost impossible when the likes of Exeter field Jack Nowell.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Thanks, yeah, I used to be interested in the Anglo Welsh, when it was on TV and the clubs actually cared. Maybe they should do like the football and have it so you can only have 3 players over the age of 23. Set some rules to it so that you don't get literal men against boys matches.

It was on Channel 5 as a revue of last weeks matches but it won't be on a national channel if it's only the Welsh sides playing this weekend. ..and understandable but why S4C or BBC 2 Wales don't have at least a summary show !!!!. .it may get 3 minutes after the dissection of the Georgia match...high profile huh....

Just looked & tonight's games aren't on anywhere.
BT or Sky are showing them (can't remember which) - their advertising didn't even mention any of the Welsh sides!
