Anyone else going? I'm worried about getting lonely...
I can't recall a previous JD where there was literally nothing at stake. I know, "bragging rights" and all that but with nothing else to play for it all feels awfully damp.
Os and Scarlets seem fully-loaded while Blues are (understandably) not bothered and Dragons are just... Dragons. I see a routine win for Os (although we'd have no chance against their first XV) and a fairly epic shoeing for the Dragons. I just hope there's some fun along the way.

I'm going but just to see the Blues game. I'm not a huge fan of the whole thing to be honest - most of the time people there don't seem to be interested in watching the games & there's a constant stream of people back & fore to the bar/toilet. The Blues team selection has all but killed what little excitement I had - would be good to get a win & maintain momentum but I think the Ospreys will win against that side.

The traffic can get very annoying yes, and it's easy to get worked up by the many people not watching the rugby - but then I suppose at least at this event, those types aren't filling places that "real" fans can't get / afford.wayneha50 wrote:I'm going but just to see the Blues game. As often, the rugby itself wasn't that entertaining anyway. Scarlets never seemed to get out of 2nd Gear even when Dragons sporadically made a fist of it. Blues - Os was better, but still no classic. I had accepted our fate at 23-20 and in all honesty I think we were a bit lucky to nick it. Perhaps the draw would have been a fair refelction? Blues' 1st XV would have won that comfortably.

Well, the Ospreys/Blues match was exciting at least - the result was in the balance for the whole match. Pleased with that but the Os were lucky to come out on top.

Re: Judgement Day
Just skimmed through the match on telly and I revise my opinion slightly; we definitely edged it. Although that's still quite a compliment to a scratch Blues side.
In some ways it was a good old-fashioned fly-half battle, and in Wales terms it's encouraging how good both were. Controlled, creative, and with an excellent individual try apiece. I guess the "full-house" makes Biggar the obvious MOTM. Os do seem more creative now, but their confidence in that seems to wane the closer to the tryline they get. I've been quite a critic of Fia but he pretty much defined "impact sub" yesterday, and I was pleased to confirm my "live" impression that Rueben Morgan-Williams had an excellent half.
Once Ollie Robinson learns how to read referees, I reckon he'll be quite a handful.

Who did the Blues rest, from what I could make out it was Gethin, Dacey, Seb Davies, Navidi, Ellis Jenkins, Nick Williams, Owen Lane, Haloholo, Leelo, Jarrod Evans, Tomas WilliamsSourdust wrote:Just skimmed through the match on telly and I revise my opinion slightly; we definitely edged it. The Os should have won that easily really, I fine performance from the Blues all in all, the Os still look slightly redundant in attack but did well to nick it at the end.
