And hello to you all after a long break. Posting this here as it is hardly a rugby post.
Saw a similar thread on the previous board which brought back a memory. February 1978, Wales v. Scotland, penultimate games at the National Stadium for Edwards and Bennett and the same for that so special team. Wales of course won and went on to the Slam. For me though an equally memorable thing about the event was after the match when between 18.00 and 22.00 in the evening about 2 feet of snow fell. I was walking back from near the Students Union in front of the Museum and then Castle, just as the pubs were starting to empty, drunken souls all over the place sliding around out of control. One Scot tried to pull himself up using the door handle of a police car, and promptly slipped down again when he saw what was inside. Cars sliding everywhere, a Rolls taking out a lamp-post gliding serenely, with no hope of stopping, before the sickening impact. Next morning the cars in Severn Grove were almost completely buried.
