The Scarlets went to sleep for most of this match and almost lost it.
However Steffan Evans put in a great two-try performance, the first try in particular having it all: speed, a great step, a hand off, a great reach for the line. I initially thought it was van der Merwe... and, like why can't we have a welsh player like that? And then was impressed to see that, no, it was actually a young welsh winger/full back. Ok, let's not get carried away, it was only against Treviso.... but very promising. Sam Davies had a good game too.

It was a dire game. A good starting twenty and final ten for the Scarlets, but the 50 minutes in between were poor. The commentators kept remarking he the Scarlets were passive, hard to argue on the strength of that performance.
2 good tries for Stef Evans and Cubby continues to catch the eye.

Agreed it was a poor quality game, and the refusal of the ref to check the accidental offside was crucial.
Yet again, no consistency in what gets referred to the TMO.
The italian captain was too polite, compared to some others we see who rant and rave, and consequently was ignored by the ref.
There are so many things wrong with this league.

I hope Barclay made it through unscathed.

Grim watching. Cardiff's game was just as grim.
Gerald Davies, what was he doing there?!

Cardiff's game was horrendous. They finally showed some urgency in the last 30, but by then the game was gone and Glasgow seemed to be able to up the pace to suit themselves when they liked.
I thought the breakdown was a mess, but Cardiff looked very passive for much of the game.

Cardiff can take a little heart from the last 10 minutes (half of which was after 80 minutes), when they played like they wanted to win AND knew how to. But Glasgow had taken their foot off the gas, the game already having been well and truly (and deservedly) won.
