HK Sevens

Post by Buggaluggs »

Wales led England 19-5 before falling away 36-19. Beat championship leaders USA 21-19. Then got well beaten by Spain, hammered by Japan (!) 38-7. And ended up 14th out 16 which was pretty disappointing in the end.

I guess the WRU uses the sevens as a scouting tool so it is hard for them to get any continuity. But still, I wish we'd take it more seriously. It's becoming a big global sport and Wales is dead last in the standings for teams that have attending all rounds so far.

There’s no reason why we can’t do well at 7s and as you say it’s getting more notice as a serious sport. Priorities I suppose but if you are going to take part then at least give it a good shot.
