Please post your messages of congratulations to England here:
No need to bring us back down to earth. I think we're all well aware it wasn't the highest quality this year, even by recent standards.Ross. S wrote:Can we shut the forum until June when they'll get buttfucked by the Aussies and brought back down to earth?
No, joking aside, best team this six nations. Congratulations.
And cut us some slack. Wales have won the 6N GS 3 times, we're still behindMellsblue wrote:As we're being magnanimous, I wonder who would've won the tournament had we swooped coaches.Ross. Of course there's angst about it around these parts, and that's not just sour grapes. It's also born of fear. Those of us old enough to remember the dark times had been enjoying a prolonged period of English underachievement as the pain of those days slowly faded. Now that's over, they're champions again, with every chance that they might be able to finally convert this success into the long-term dominance that the bare numbers say they should always have. Like a Conservative government, a successful England is very hard to get rid of. Of course we knew it had to happen eventually, but so does arthritis and that's no fun either.
If the Aussies are up for it, that will be a real test. Assuming their pack is as stable as it was in the RWC, I think it will be a good tour.Nightynight wrote:Sourdust wrote:You only have to beat what's there. We'll show you, yer bunch of %^$s. Just you wait and see how the aussie's butt fook us in the summer!
No need to lay it on that thick, they really aren't that good that we should be worrying about the dark days again.Sourdust wrote:You only have to beat what's there. England were the best team in the tournament by a comfortable distance, and they played with smartness and style. No arguments.

Agree they were the best and most consistent of the tournament. Agree a more dynamic England under Eddie will push us all on a bit. If we met again tomorrow we probably thump them.
Hardly, the post is a bit OTT, congrats and all that but it's no use pretending that this is a new dawn or most teams in the tournament weren't below par.Banquo wrote:Master baiter!Billyfish wrote:No need to lay it on that thick, they really aren't that good that we should be worrying about the dark days again.Sourdust wrote:You only have to beat what's there. Not sure anyone (other than the usual suspects) thinks other than a small step forward from the unfortunate RWC showing not the dawning of a new era. A new coach can have an effect without doing anything with the same players You guys have been there and seen it! Bearing in mind I would say the other teams were better last 6N, it is still an achievement to win a Grand Slam. Despite some self proclaimers, very few believe that a Grand Slam can in any way be 'devalued'. There are a number of the games which were won but with serious issues; both Ireland and Wales would, I believe have been put to the sword quite easily by New Zealand, with the way they played, Italy made us work until late on, as did Scotland and everyone knows France were poor the whole tournament.Billyfish wrote: Hardly, the post is a bit OTT, congrats and all that but it's no use pretending that this is a new dawn or most teams in the tournament were below par.
