So f*** that, let's see you black dogs!
Here's my Gunniess-daughter, in all her inability to look good in photos

It does seem a bit sad that you might like to give an animal a home if only it looked better on your instagram, but I don't know what the actual effect of it would be.Digby wrote:I was hoping it was a Led Zeppelin thing too, and if people don't want black pets I fail to see the harm
If this leads to a ban for instagram I can get on board, still more so if it also led to the demise of facebook and twitter. Though on pets I wouldn't want a small dog, other than maybe a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, because small dogs seem more like rats to me than dogs, and I also wouldn't want something larger than an Alsatian thinking about space (in the house and car). I can't say colour has ever occurred to me as a thing when looking at pets, but given I'd prefer to make my own choices I don't think others should be constrained.Mikey Brown wrote:It does seem a bit sad that you might like to give an animal a home if only it looked better on your instagram, but I don't know what the actual effect of it would be.Digby wrote:I was hoping it was a Led Zeppelin thing too, and if people don't want black pets I fail to see the harm
We dogsit a Lab for weekends on occasions, and he is a lovely dog, although he has no where near the energy levels of our cockapoo. Neither dog is black, although the lab's coat is sort of auburn, which very nicely matches my wife's hair.Digby wrote:If this leads to a ban for instagram I can get on board, still more so if it also led to the demise of facebook and twitter. Also important to note I wouldn't want any colour Lab, they're just too stupid. This should be a position we can all rally behind.

What happens if you wake up on Sunday morning and realise it was a terrible, drunken mistake?SerjeantWildgoose wrote:The character of a man can be measured by the dogs he has loved.
Not too shabby photos either.WaspInWales wrote:This is Poppy. She is the best dog in the world:
This however, is Marmite, an epic thundercunt of a black cat. Fucking arsehole even tries to steal the limelight on national black dog day!
The bastard gets through about 20 rodents a week and a few birds too. I don't mind him killing rats, but always try to save the mice, shrews and birds.
Yes, he looks cute, but turn your back on him for just a few seconds and there will be a pile of dead animals at your feet.
We adopted him from the RSPCA when he was about 7 months old and can remember being told that it's very difficult to re-home black cats.
I don't. Our dog is an absolute bellend.Which Tyler wrote:Every owner thinks they have the best dog in the world.WaspInWales wrote:This is Poppy. She is the best dog in the world.
They're all correct.

I'm not ready for this.
It's not my readiness that counts.

I'm so sorry for your loss - I'm dreading the day.WaspInWales wrote:Lost my Poppy to lymphoma in January. It took just a few months from the initial signs of the cancer to become systemic. It was absolutely heartbreaking. She was 10 and whilst that isn't a bad innings for a lab, I wasn't ready to lose her at all and wished I had a couple more years with her.
Still miss her terribly now. She was so lovely.

Have a hug, and not even a man-hug
Guinness is doing better now; but still a definite limp in her front left, to go with her existing arthritis in both hips - not exhibiting much in the way of pain from them, just irritation that they don't do what she tells them to. Currently she's more upset from her guts, having eaten something she obviously shouldn't have - worried that it might be something in our new wildflower "meadow"Which Tyler wrote:This morning, I had to carry the venerable old lady upstairs for the first time
