Leicester city - wtf?

Their form at the end of last season was phenomenal and they aren't exactly short of a bob or two.

It will always require some luck but look how much the two Manchester sides spent

I've had a soft spot for them for a while. I was at Filbert Street in my first year at uni to watch them bummed 6-1 by Leeds.

Had a brief summer job as Filbert the Fox, but they went into administration so I never got to do it at a first team game and it is the biggest regret of my life.

I'd prefer them to finish 2nd with Spurs winning it though.

Loads of the pundits pre season had them being relegated and ranieri being the first manager to be sacked.

Would love to see them win the league. At the very least, CL qualification but there's still some way to go.

Spurs are on fire and Arsenal aren't doing too bad either and both are only 5 points behind Leicester. City only a point behind those two.

Still enjoying United's season. There's no denying that they are capable of playing some nice football. Their demolition of Stoke was impressive and they played well against Chelsea. That said, I can't help but laugh when they put in a crap performance and get booed at half time, full time and their precious fans start kicking off as if they have a god given right to win every bloody game.

Shame for Leicester against Arsenal today, they almost got a decent point out the game. As it is, this could be the start of a slump for them.
If the mighty hammers can't win the title I really hope Leicester do it.

It would be a great outcome if they made it..just to remind titles can't always be bought.Also nice to see players shipped on like Schmeichel, Albrighton & Huth making good.Pearson laid the foundations for this run and should feel good - Villa were mugs not to employ him under the circumstances.
Just wondered what odds were up for them winning the title at any time last year, or at the start of this season and if anyone is planning a retirement if it happens.

The weirdness of the season continues.

Leicester were held by West Brom last night so Spurs had a chance to go top tonight. Arsenal and Man City had a chance to open up a gap on United.

So what happens?? Naturally, Spurs lose at West Ham. Arsenal lose at home to struggling Swansea and City get thrashed 3-0 at Anfield.

To top things off, United beat Watford 1-0 at home to draw level with City on points and 10 points behind Leicester.

It's still very much to play for. Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal remain favourites but all seem capable of dropping points so United and even West Ham could make some ground up.

Chelsea seem to be hitting some decent form too....it doesn't seem likely that they can catch up enough points to make Europe but the way this season is going, I wouldn't be surprised!

I got up to watch the Leicester game as I really hope they win the league this year. Crazy stuff at the end when they could have won it.

Leicester nearly home n'hosed after today's win on Tyneside.7 points up with 5 to play, 3 of these at home.Win those and it's job done.
Only 3 defeats all season with the team they have..wemarkable and a bit odd fwankly.
Hope they keep their nerve.

I think 6 more points would do the trick for them, but they have a pretty tough run now compared to Spurs. Was really wanting Utd to scrape a draw on Sunday, probably the first time I've ever cheered them on so to speak!

Not the biggest football fan ever, but have always liked Spurs since seeing Hoddle play when I was a nipper. So obviously would like Spurs to win the league, but if we come second, it's a fairy tale for Leicester, so all power to them, and an ass raping for all the mega rich clubs who continually want to buy their way to the title.

Also think England's national side will benefit hugely from what's happening. (hopefully after they play Wales in the Euro's)

And it swings back to Leicester. Thumping win against Swansea and Spurs only managed a draw against West Brom. That leaves Leicester just one win away with 3 games remaining!!

Way back when I were a nipper and all the other lads at school started talking about football, I realised that I had no club to support. Frank Worthington had just moved from Huddersfield to Leicester for, what was then, an English record fee. So Leicester stuck. This despite 4 years at Uni in Nottingham at the end of Clough's time - a time when I wish my trunks had been up and down as often as Leicester. Highlight of my several days out at Filbert Street was a 6th round FA Cup win against Shrewsbury in 1982 which see-sawed back and forwards to a 5-2 win, only for us to be tipped out in the semi-final by Spurs; I've hated them ever since.

I suppose that getting a half brick in the face while being kettled by the police at Watford and then taking a hoofing from a half a dozen Forest supporters on my way from the station to the bus in Nottingham started to put me off football; Hillsborough, Heysel and English fans running riot during European championships were the hammers that drove the nails into the coffin of any lingering interest.

Outside of World Cups, I had not watched a full 90-odd minutes of football for 15 or so years until I decided to watch the Leicester vs Southampton match a few weeks back. I've watched them all since with the simple pleasure of knowing that this is what team sport is all about and a minor but worthy moral victory over the bully boys who ruin sport with their bloated cheque books.

Doesn't stop people like Vardy acting like yobs, mind.
