European Rugby Rankings Week 39

Post by UKHamlet »

I nicked this from Reddit. They're running a rankings system using the same points exchange algorithm as world rugby points exchange.
Based on results since 2003 in the Champions, Challenge, URC/Pro 14(12)/Rainbow Cup, Top 14 and Gallagher Premiership.
All teams were given 80 points to start. relegated teams points freeze till they are promoted again.

Ooh, that is fascinating. Very interesting that Leicester are so high given their recovery from the doldrums is quite recent, but I suppose they would've picked up an awful lot of points from beating higher ranked sides this season.

You'd have to say that, like the WR rankings that it's based on, that does look pretty fair. Definitely keep it updated please Hammy!

That's brilliant.
Didn't ERC do something similar, that bit the dust when PRL organised their coup?

Cheers Hammy, don't see much from you on the board these days. Great that you have kept this site up and running for years in one version or another. Have enjoyed it tremendously - much appreciated! Seems ages ago that fanatical fans were wumming the hell out of each other with nationalistic trolls and taunts. All very civilized now.

Yes. I remember the days when someone could post that they had bought a new electric drill and within 10 posts we'd calling each other complete twats for thinking that brand or another wasn't complete shit.

I was thinking more of terms like " cheating bent Micks", "nancy-boy Nigels", "cheap shot Taffs" etc... There were a few key posters always up for a bit of pre- and post-game aggro. You know them as well as I.

Who was the guy who used to argue with Phil for pages and pages. I recall hundreds of posts about defensive patterns in a Cardiff vs Leicester game.

No actually. He was one of the original posters on here but left a few years after this started up. Think he was an ex player at a high level.
