Bristol Vs Northampton

Post by jimKRFC »

Bristol side;
15. Charles Piutau, 14. Siva Naulago, 13. Semi Radradra, 12. James Williams, 11. Gabriel Ibitoye, 10. AJ MacGinty, 9. Harry Randall (c)
1. Yann Thomas, 2. Harry Thacker, 3. Max Lahiff, 4. Chris Vui, 5. Joe Batley, 6. Sam Jeffries, 7. Fitz Harding, 8. Magnus Bradbury

Subs: 16. Bryan Byrne, 17. Jake Woolmore, 18. George Kloska, 19. Steven Luatua, 20. Jake Heenan, 21. Andy Uren, 22. Sam Bedlow, 23. Ioan Lloyd

Bristol side notable for the lack of changes (1 - Batley for Joyce) and Luatua not walking straight back into it. Hopefully the lack of changes will show with a bit more fluency and a reduction in errors & penalties.

Saints:
1 Ethan Waller, 2 Sam Matavesi, 3 Alfie Petch
4 Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, 5 Alex Moon, 6 Alex Coles, 7 Angus Scott-Young, 8 Sam Graham

15 George Hendy, 14 Courtnall Skosan, 13 Fraser Dingwall (c), 12 Rory Hutchinson, 11 Tom Collins, 10 Fin Smith, 9 Callum Braley

Replacements:
16 Tom Cruse, 17 Alex Waller, 18 Paul Hill, 19 Karl Wilkins, 20 Aaron Hinkley, 21 Jake Garside, 22 James Grayson, 23 Tom Litchfield

Saints more affected by call ups, but have put a good series of results in with this side. Probably Saints favourite to win, but should be a good game!

How is Bradbury getting on there? He has lots of great attributes but always seemed to struggle to put it together consistently when given chances for Scotland. Great carrier but could often be a bit clumsy?

Hope Garside gets decent minutes. Loved watching him in age grade rugby. Got 12 mins last week on his Prem debut.

That's good to hear. Best finishing school out there so I've heard.

He's been playing well, very consistent and works haed. Not as destructive as Hughes (at his best) but does a lot more work and usually makes ground on his carries.

Really jarring being without the likes of Freeman and Ribbans this week, who based on selections so far won't even be featuring for England in the next game. Doesn't really compute that Smith needs game time but all these other players don't.

Good to see Hendy starting - he's an exciting player, hopefully goes well. Will be good if Sam Graham can build on his impressive performance last weekend - was a beast against Glos.

Indeed-Freeman may feature tho. What’s up with Furbank?

Aye Furbank is injured (foot injury against Sale) and Ramm picked up something last game - hence Hendy at fullback. Shame as Ramm has started really delivering. Hopefully it's minor.

I don't know who the Saints defence coach is but he's probably bald having pulled all his hair out in the opening 25 odd minutes of this game.

Well we started that half reasonably well, but it's all gone to shit. Some truly awful defence. Lineout has gone to shit too.

I haven't seen him play like this in a while. When he's on it then he's pretty special isn't he.

Opening 40 mins...

I have no idea what Saints are trying to do in defence but tackling is a little bit to optional.

Thacker looking pretty exceptional tonight as well.

Wonderful chaos from Bristol.

Saints could do with getting on Hinckley, they've got to slow that Bristol ruck speed down.

If Bristol don't take their foot off the gas this could get really ugly.
