They didn't mention the wind but I'm pretty sure the wind was from left to right and quite strong, it annoys me when the commentators ignore this as it is a big advantage to play with the wind.

It's fair to say there was a bit of a momentum shift at half time!

Worrying how our scrum and maul were second best to Japan, at least till we got our subs on. Very enjoyable last ten minutes for us but we could have lost that one and without that completely unnecessary (but deserved) red for Japan we might well have.

I guess we did marginally better than expected. Shame our lineout was so poor. But this was against a 14-man France for most of game, even 13 at the end, and they never looked it (although their locks looked like they'd eaten at least one man each for breakfast). Whatever the result we do at least have several players who should make their mark at the senior level. Unfortunately, so do France.

Interesting to be almost matching NZ in this competition. Georgia are obviously playing out of their skins . . . should be an interesting one for us on the weekend.

Good work comfortably beating Georgia. Nice to finish ahead of NZ, even if we're behind most of the 6N teams. I don't fancy our chances against Australia but stranger things have happened (in this competition).

Poor lineout was a big factor in our big loss to Australia. We'd have struggled enough without that but as it was we had no chance.

Overall an okay WC result of 6th place (same as last time), especially after a dreadful 6N.
