Re: Bath vs Exeter
When was the last time Slade played at 10?
We'll see if Exeter's decision to play their strongest team during the PRC pays off.
Bath should provide a pretty stern test.

Glorious from Hill. I wonder if he's got any Scottish relatives.

Flatman as usual is bang on. What could Hill even do in that situation?
Realistically that was reffed as well as it could be under current guidelines?

Got in just in time to see the replays - he was basically on his knees and slightly bent at waisted.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 6:13 pm Flatman as usual is bang on. What could Hill even do in that situation?

Nothing he could do but jump out of the way.
Rugby incident, but still illegal.
I guess the answer is "jump out of the way, or accept the card"
Much like keeping hold of the ball when isolated and tackled, just a more severe punishment

Lol. Rigg. What a unit.
2 on 1, run diagonally, bosh, knock on. He's got to start at 12 for England.

Re: Bath vs Exeter
Couple of Bath fans determined that Hill was " no foul play" because an inside defender, moving forwards and making contact with the ball carrier in an attempt to stop their forward momentum isn't a tackle.
And if there's no tackle, you're allowed to hit people in the head.
And therefore no foul play, and no yellow card...

Aren’t they just.
As an aside the Hill incident was exactly as Flatman called it.

Re: Bath vs Exeter
Those three, Hill, Pepper and Fisilau, make a fair back row. They might not be as experienced as Curry, Underhill and Earl but, as a unit, I reckon they would overtake them in effectiveness after a run of 3 or 4 games for England. And, you can make a case for other potentially better units too. Borthwick needs to find the balls to drop good players for (potentially) better ones. It is a difficult but essential part of his job.
