The Status Quo
No. Not the band.
The political/economic status quo of the western world.
I would describe it as barely, and not always, disguised fascism.
And increasingly the disguise is being abandoned only to display the raw use of state/elite power.
Governments consistently treat their constituents populations as enemies and/or threats to be despised.
The wants/needs of the rich corporate class are catered for while society is increasingly being starved of the social programmes that make life meaningful for the many.
30 years ago, if not less, no conservative would stand for what they stand for today. 40 years ago Keynes was still conservative policy.
Nowadays any real Keynesian like a Jeremy Corbyn or a Bernie Sanders is derided by those who identify themselves as centrists as being loonies.
So what's it all about, righties? How can you stand for the status quo when the status quo keeps changing?

As for the maths. There are mathematic 'theories' on both sides, they are not the same as mathematical facts. I asked for maths.

Good post as always, UGagain. We live in the age of American Empire, and the US has clearly modelled itself on its British predecessor, which was the embodiment of classist, racist evilUGagain wrote:No. Not the band.

If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Impress us and post something you find positive or "good" in the world... Gotta be something you live for, right?
I mean UG... I remember you loved ambrosia.. Post the recipe

It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.

He is right. And it does start with dialogue, and that dialogue is very difficult to have on the big stage. If you don't pitch in straining to keep the boat in the "centre" you are thrown to the sharks. The sharks toss us some scraps of comical reality TV like some eugenics subsistence diet (http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-36907541). It's totally FUBAR.

Re: The Status Quo
I've been wondering about His Popiness. It seems nothing less than facking bizarre to me that we are now relying on this guy for moral and political ethics.
Can we rely on the Vatican to pick another human being...?.....or is the Vatican just another reactive multinational picking a handy liberal for PR..?.
See next week in the latest episode of some Dan Brown/Multinational/Establishment diversionary tactic.
It's such crap. It's just super-rich w*nkers protecting their vested interest. It's all pathetically transparent.
The current development of society is a dead-end....we're being faked into a continuance of 'survival of the fittest' by the morons who are populist, psychopath, Billionaires.

The Politics room has become a bit more focused recently because the general contribution has drastically reduced.Coco wrote:Was being a smart ass hoping to get a scathingly sarcastic and humorous retort from UG.. Let's keep it focused, Coco.
We aren't all involved in your nonsensical mid-west elections. ........but it's true that we hate our rural cousins as well.
Our rural cousins are just as sh*t, thick, bigoted and morons. The only people who like them are the blonde haired public school boy twats who control them and make a fortune from their representation.
Rural politics is frighteningly easy to control.
....and we're going to fu*k 'em............right up the arse.
Edit,....feck off.

I'd prefer it if we were quoting Richard Pryor.........I suspect that the majority of the black population would prefer that Richard Pryor was still with us and speaking for the Black community.morepork wrote:Vengeful Glutton wrote:

Being scathingly sarcastic is frowned upon in these here parts nowadays. The fun police are being decidedly heavy handed.Coco wrote:Was being a smart ass hoping to get a scathingly sarcastic and humorous retort from UG..
