Wales v SA
Halfpenny, Amos, Williams, Parkes, Evans, Biggar, Davies
Evans, Owens, Lee, AWJ, Davies, Shingler, Tipuric, Navidi
Dacey, Jones, Brown, Hill, Cross, Davies, Patchell, Watkin
It seems a bit like a whose left standing and plays in Wales team I have put Lee in to start but not really sure if he is fit ...

I don’t think Lee will be fit, in which case it will be a big test for Brown. Hopefully Faletau will be available.

Evans
Owens
Francis
AWJ
Hill
Shingler
Navidi
Faletau
Davies
Biggar
Evans
Williams
Parkes
Amos
Halfpenny
Bench: Jones, Dacey, Brown, Davies, Tipuric, Patchell, Cuthbert
I can't really justify Roberts's inclusion over Cuthbert as he can't play wing proficiently (it's a moot point as to whther Cuthbert can) and we literally have no else left.
I thin we can give them a decent game with this side.

Re: Wales v SA
I think we'll have to assume none of the English based players will be available. So no:
Tomos Francis
Taulupe Faletau
Jamie Roberts
Rhys Priestland
Owen Williams
Liam Williams
So depth wise big problem especially at tighthead. If Brown is expected to start with only Scott Andrews as back-up we're in trouble.
No Jake Ball will hit us hard too, we've under utilised Seb Davies this autumn & will start with Cory Hill I guess.

Faletau has a clause so should be available, Francis apparently won't be, tho Exeter have allowed him to play in the "outside the window" match before.PoolerSaint wrote:I think we'll have to assume none of the English based players will be available. So no:

Isn't Cuthbert injured ...Roberts unavailable..hurrah .Francis won't be available Falateu is unlikely to be available despite his clause..we will see.
Scott Andrews is on loan at Bath so may or may not be tied in with them next week.
Seb Davies would be my choice to start but it will be Cory Hill.

"However, the Wales team management have said throughout the autumn that Priestland's club team-mate Taulupe Faletau will be available against the Springboks."
"Faletau is understood to have negotiated full-release for international matches when he joined the West Country club when he joined them from Dragons in 2016."
We may be better off with Dillon Lewis on the bench as Andrews is not very good at all.

We'd be better off with my dead granny on roller skates for all the use Andrews is. If Brown has a hard time in the set piece he will at least learn from it. Andrews has had plenty of time to kick on and has failed to do so.Numbers wrote:From the BBC Sport website:ALunpg wrote:Isn't Cuthbert injured ...Roberts unavailable..hurrah .Francis won't be available Falateu is unlikely to be available despite his clause..we will see.

Absolute farce that you lot are still persevering with this 4th AI.
Dual contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on if the players will get flogged like this anyway.

I tried explaining the rules of scrum engagement to my dead granny .....just couldn't understand why she couldn't drive..Sandydragon wrote:We'd be better off with my dead granny on roller skates for all the use Andrews is. I agree totally about the choice of Lewis over Andrews but he has been second choice to Domachowski...was this injury or performance as the bit I have seen of Domachowski also looked good but possibly Lewis was on the summer tour with McBryde ...but not totally sure if that helps or is a hindrance to the lad

I suppose the question about Falateu is ..are Bath willing to pay the inevitable fine that will be dished out if Bath do agree to him playing .Has Faletau played outside the "AI window" previously.

Re: Wales v SA
I checked and it seems the Aussie match at the start was the one outside and Falateu was injured .But it was ok with the PL as there were 4 English internationals as was there 4 SA and Irish and other countries playing 4 matches in 2016.ALunpg wrote:I tried explaining the rules of scrum engagement to my dead granny .....just couldn't understand why she couldn't drive..Sandydragon wrote:We'd be better off with my dead granny on roller skates for all the use Andrews is. Bath would be in a predicament as they wanted François Lowe back from the SA sqaud.
But it is no wonder we are a little confused .

Assiratti has been in the Blues side ahead of Lewis. Domachowski has been at loosehead along with Thyer due to Gethin & Rhys Gill being crocked.
Gotta say that's a good pool of young props at Cardiff.
Young man mountain loosehead prospect Rhys Carre is also there & was hugely impressive for Wales U20's last season.
Think Dillon Lewis just needs a good injury free run to get that 1st team spot nailed down. But it's good he has Assiratti there to push each other along with their development.

Good job Faletau is available with Tipuric being unavailable due to injury as I'm guessing he'd have been coming into play 7 with Navidi moving to 8?
Think we'll see:
15. Halfpenny
14. Amos
13. Parkes
12. S Williams
11. Evans
10. Biggar
9. Davies
1. Evans
2. Owens
3. Brown
4. Hill
5. AW Jones
6. Shingler
7. Navidi
8. Faletau
Reps
W Jones
K Dacey
S Andrews
S Davies
D Lydiate
A Davies
Patchell
Watkin

I emailed warren earlier to make a case for selection. I may not have played right head much (last time was over 10 years ago) but I’d give Andrews a run for his money.ALunpg wrote:So. its a choice between Andrews or dead grannies ....hmmPoolerSaint wrote:Frightening prospect.Numbers wrote:Well, apparently Andrews is available for this game, joy of joys.
