Gonna be hard to call as the early rounds, best described as a 'phoney war' make it hard to call. Nothing happened of note for so long then it burst to life. Since then, Quigg has been the better fighter.

Both fighters embrace on the final bell. For all the pre-fight bullshit, it has been rather civil in the ring. No aggro, stares or dirty looks on any bells. Both fighters were straight back in their corners.

Hard to call but only because of the quiet first half of the fight. Quigg won since then but if Frampton got the nod on the early rounds, it's gonna be close.

I think 'by a distance' is harsh. Nothing of note happened in the first half of the fight. Quigg landed some nice shots in the second half and took quite a few rounds.

Perhaps the difference was Frampton looking more on the front foot in the first few rounds without actually landing anything.

Agreed, if Quigg had come out with the same attitude as he had for the second half of the fight he would have won by 2-3 rounds, what his corner were thinking, letting him get into that position, I don't know

3. Brook badly needs a step up in class. I expect him to lose at the top level but he deserves a chance (and payday).

What did you make of Blackwell's corner? I'm not sure Gary Lockett was paying too much attention to the fighter, when he was telling him "this is your chance" Blackwell looked like he wasn't hearing him, at least he wasn't responding. Harsh on Lockett tho as when fighters get to that stage of a fight they're often too tired to speak, I would have expected him to at least look at his trainer tho, I suppose that's what the doctor should be looking at between rounds.

Good news is Blackwell is supposed to be woken from his coma this afternoon.

The corner is there to look after the fighter as much as they are to coach him. I feel they let him down. "This is your chance" ?!?! Fuck off he had NO CHANCE and looked absolutely fucked from about the 6th imo. In that situation they should lose the macho bullshit and pull the fighter.

Very tough to be in that corner given the way the fight was going. But that's what they are there for. I have heard corners say "show me something or I am pulling you out" but I didn't hear anything like that from Lockett (although I wasn't fully focused on the fight). I haven't read anything to suggest Lockett was thinking about pulling him out. Not that he will be thinking of much except Blackwell.

I do hope Senior doesn't put a dampener on any killer instinct Junior has though. He'll need it to get up to world level.

Yeah, he looks like a big super lightweight from the pics I saw. Thankfully a lot younger and lighter than Eubank Jnr. Wouldn't have been good for either to have the prospect of an eventual "Benn V Eubank" fight way on the horizon.
