OK, so Argentina and Australia still have a mathematical chance of winning the Tri Nations.

Argentina, in order to potentially share the title with New Zealand, have to win by 92 points, Australia by 100.

If Argentina win with a 93-point margin, or Australia with a 101-point margin, then they win the title outright.

Is this the scenario the 6N is scared about re bonus points? Australia or Argentina are likely to win 2 and draw one but still lose the title to NZ who have won two lost two. Doesn't seem quite right. In tournaments this short, I think bonus points should only be a tie breaker if teams are otherwise equal (like away goals).

You've got a point there. 2W, 1L, 1D should beat 2W, 2L every time. But its only fair that a stupid rule goes in our favour for once after the Cricket World Cup final farce.

On the other hand, getting beaten in half your games and ending up with a +64 PD is pretty good.

So how many tests were wasted on Frizell looking like Tarzan and playing like Jane? Hopefully Akira has finally, and rightfully, usurped him as the first-choice blindside. Very much seems to be following the Kaino trajectory, which is great to see. Will also be worthwhile keeping an eye on Grace though.

Also would like to see Sotutu given more opportunities to start at #8 rather than going through this whole song and dance again. Akira/Sotutu is a fantastic combo at the Blues and firmly believe they'll work just as well at test level.

Which brings up the question of who do you drop out of the starting side Cane or Savea?

Let Savea compete for the bench spot with Papali'i in a horses-for-courses setup. Don't think much of Cane as a captain but his front-on defence is great and much needed in test rugby. Savea can come on with ~20 to go and try just go nuts, or use Papali'i if it's a more confrontational/physical encounter.

Not sold on Cane as captain at all, especially when it means jerking around other options that would better do the damage for specific games.

The fact that are even discussing Cane's place in the starting XV suggests he should not be captain. You need a dead cert first pick to be skipper. That means Coles, Whitelock (for now), Aaron Smith (although you'd rather have the C on the field for the full 80), or B Barrett (but only if he was playing 10 - you can't captain from fullback).

Personally, I'd give the job to Whitelock until the XV is a bit more settled.

Dude was the most consistent player out of everyone and was, overall, the best player the All Blacks had.

Whitelock, in comparison, had a very up-and-down tournament.

Yeah but we have more quality loosies than locks, and Cane is good, but I wouldn't like to see him Ruben Thorn some in form alternative.
