What exactly has been the point of Jack Nowell today?

He certainly makes me emotional. Despair, mostly.

Grayson is not a Smith-Farrell axis fan I reckon.

It's not as though he's lightning or anything, but part of our problem with being slow can surely be amended by getting one of our locks off. Preferably Itoje so we don't have to keep listening to him Wilhelm scream every time he thinks he's had a foul play done to him.

Puja
That image really, really got me. Good stuff.

And agreed on Willis, looks like we’re about to get almost 5 minutes of him now.

Maybe Nowell has been distracted by the pressure of the co-vice-captaincy?

Fuck's sake. Only caught the last 30 minutes and it has been shite. When are they going to stop giving away penalties under no pressure?

That feels like a poor decision by Argentina. I wouldn't have faith in us getting a try, whereas we might get a series of penalties that gets us a win from here.

So, our "mini RWC" has started off with us being in danger of not getting out of our pool. Excellent.

I thought our private equity fund friends would have a more rounded marketing plan but it’s a start.

But at least we didn’t give away our gameplan.

I liked it. Put the game in your own hands to control things for just over three minutes and worst case scenario was England going the length of the pitch.

Ironically England looked more dangerous when forced to run from deep than at any point really.

So, what do we expect the reaction to be? Same pack, drop Smith, keep Youngs, bring in a Porter/Manu midfield, put Steward onto the wing and recall Furbank at 15?

Backs are all over the shop, but the discipline was appalling- gifted game.

Lack of backline pace exposed by lineout try.

Serious questions for Eddie there. The team sheet looked lacking in pace, and lo and behold it was slow and disjointed.

Really poor performance and Arg deserved winners.

Youngs
Farrell
Coka
Manu
Porter
Nowell
Steward

Attacking game plan is high balls for Steward to catch and send waves of stodge in to midfield.

It's like Eddie thought:

You know what's the best way to break down a defence? Make every ruck last as long as possible to give the defence a chance to get into shape. And then, you know what, let's not bother with pace, so we can't go round the outside. That way the defence can just sit narrow and know we can't go around them. That's the perfect way to win a test match.

It's not as if any of us could have seen that...
