Are you saying it was great rugby or we’ve been so shoite since 2029 that regulation good play is exceptional?fivepointer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:17 pm Stewards try was the best bit of rugby this team has produced since the WC, It was quite something.

Wtf? Smith should be shot! The match was there to be won. He shouldn’t play next week.

That.....was a limp finish there. You could have had us.

For very different reasons, that was unimpressive from both teams. A draw when both teams lost.

I don't trust us not to fuck up and give away a penalty if we play though, so I'll take a draw.
What a weird fucking game. Absolutely dire for 70 minutes and then 10 minutes of probably the best I've seen us play in 3 years (and if you exclude the RWC semi-final, that 10 minutes is probably the best England play for a very long time).
I will absolutely take the draw.

It was a cracking try. Great lines, offloads, good options, forwards and backs combining. Really good.Mellsblue wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:22 pmAre you saying it was great rugby or we’ve been so shoite since 2029 that regulation good play is exceptional?fivepointer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:17 pm Stewards try was the best bit of rugby this team has produced since the WC, It was quite something.
Getting a draw isnt a bad result considering how poor we were for most of the game. We improved a lot after h/t. Curry upped his game, Smith got more involved and the bench made a big difference.

The yellow card helped…
Also, they looked better when in effect they had only one fly half calling the shots

Apols for being blunt but this a depressing post. It was a good try but not a best in three years example… unless, we’ve been poor in attack, which we have been.fivepointer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:28 pmIt was a cracking try. We were lucky to get a draw. It’s a draw after which NZ will be be gutted whilst we’re (meant to be) happy. Assuming we’re wanting to win the RWC then a plucky draw at home isn’t great. Plenty of time to rectify but it’s been a poor 2022.

Willis and Ribbans have to start next week but won’t. Eddie will be stubborn.
Nowell needs to be dropped but won’t. Eddie will be stubborn.
JVP needs to get back on the horse but won’t. Eddie will be stubborn.

How the hell did we draw that? I’m struggling to remember a NZ team so poor and yet we were out-competing them easily on that front. I’m really not sure what I’ve just watched. Ribbans showed what simply not having Hill on the pitch brings us.
Soooo much wrong with us.

Weird as it is to say it, I'm kinda warming to the idea of having Slade at 15. That was easily the best I've seen him play in an England shirt and, if we can use him properly, it could be a good asset.

As bad as today was (and it was truly awful) we’ve now got the next few days of wondering what the Eddie is going to make of it.
Nah, fekk it, I can’t look.

A fighting draw after you've been comprehensively outplayed for 60 odd minutes is something to celebrate.Mellsblue wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:35 pmApols for being blunt but this a depressing post. Yes, NZ should have won and yes, most of our performance was poor but some credit is due for hanging in there and scoring 3 unanswered tries.
Whether that or anything that happens over the next year puts us into a position to win the WC is another thing really. Right now, we dont look likely winners but that has been the way over the last 3 seasons.

That pub car park bullshit was two of the shittiest coaches in international rugby having handbags in the Metaverse after drinking 500mL of hand sanitiser each (the good stuff, with methanol).

Faz gets a knock, Smith starts playing like the boss man, and England nick the draw.

Yeah, they knew it had been a shit day in the office. Take the draw and let the kiwis flagellate themselves over such grand larceny.Puja wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 7:27 pmI don't trust us not to fuck up and give away a penalty if we play though, so I'll take a draw.

Even Gatland asking if Farrell stymies Smith!!! and then Carter ruins it. Never watch your heroes in post match analysis.
