Whatever happened to James Chisholm. He looked like a good player at one point, but he's slightly faded off the scene. Has he been injured?

Arundell will get a few of the pre game headlines, but keep an eye out for Dykes. He's one a few more decent outside backs coming through at the moment.
Would rather have had Chawatama available here to go up against Marler at set piece, so interesting to see how that works.

Very good to see Arundell back. Equally good to see is Cunningham-South start at 8 for Irish.

I was going to make a quip about his being the messiah and who else was the thread title referring to, cause the rest are all has-beens and yesterday's news. Excited to see him get a start.fivepointer wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 5:23 pmEqually good to see is Cunningham-South start at 8 for Irish.

I’d assumed it was referring to Tom Lawday.

Two games in a row at 8 for CCS. Showed up well against Mercer last week.

Strongmen brothers train at quins. To get some perspective of how big they are look look at 9 mins in with marler.

Tom the world strong man champion is like 6ft9 right, complete monster. They call him the albatross due to the wing span when he holds his arms out.
I saw some of the bits of them in the gym generally making what the rugby players were doing look easy.

Rory Jennings as a hard carrying, stocky, offloading 12 was not on my beginning of season bingo card.

Another early red card, ironically on a player who himself escaped sanction for a possible high shot a few minutes earlier.

Nick David is one of the best broken field runners in England

Crazy first half. Irish are never in a boring game as far as I can tell.

I know they’re banging Arundell for tbe passes but Cinti he got to hold some depth. Hard for the first cause he’s angling for the cross field, but he absolutely gets too far forward for the second. A modicum of depth and he walks in.

Second pass not great but Cinti should have caught it

yep, passer always slows down; mind running lines off Arundell would be tricky, so quick and steppy. Looks in good nick again. Nick David also impressive as above. And Dykes. Nice to give MOTM to Dykes but I thought it was Pearson by a mile. He looks class.

Told you all*. He reminds me a bit of Murley. A decent finisher, who's strong and agile in contact.Margin_Walker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 2:57 pm Arundell will get a few of the pre game headlines, but keep an eye out for Dykes. He's one a few more decent outside backs coming through at the moment.
Made hard work of that in the end in the second half a man up, but nice to bring it home without too much panic.
Thought Pearson was great again. His level of performance is so consistent.
*Despite the comically bang to rights pen try concession.

Pearson was just outstanding. He makes so many telling interventions in a game, with or without the ball.

Re: Irish vs Quins - Return of the Messiah
"Hyoogs" Moyne is making a determined effort to dislodge Dallaligo from his premier position as the most turgidly boring media pundit. Never using one word when many will do, his monotone dreary droning seems to know no bounds. Lol is probably still a nose ahead, but Hyoogs is edging up on the rails and I reckon he'll just pip him by season's end.
As to the rugby :
What more does Pearson have to do to get on the England squad ?
I know Cunningham-South is a Kiwi, but is he England qualified? Presumably so, since he has a few U20s caps. Impressive athlete.
Paddy Jackson keeps plugging away as one of the most consistent FH's in the league. His non-flashy distribution and quality place kicking are central to LI's game.

Pearson has a lot of quality competition, and like VRR possibly unable to get in as Stevelar could only make 5 changesSpiffy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 5:20 pm "Hyoogs" Moyne is making a determined effort to dislodge Dallaligo from his premier position as the most turgidly boring media pundit. Cunningham-South is England-qualified somehow, but don't know how. Everything I can find on him says he grew up in NZ without confirming he was actually born there, so it could be he was born here and moved over young or it's the old parent/grandparent card trick.Spiffy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 29, 2023 5:20 pm "Hyoogs" Moyne is making a determined effort to dislodge Dallaligo from his premier position as the most turgidly boring media pundit.
