Hmm long term that is not much of a loss. He's looked very pedestrian. Picking only him at 8... smart

Fear not, it's a red. Sorry to say that that's presumably it for BillyV's test career. Match gone now.

Third match in a row England with a red v Ireland. One for Lizard.

Any chance of getting Deano or Dayglo out of retirement for Fiji game? :)

It’s tough watching. They just seem not very good.

George does his absolute best to somehow stay within the bounds of the pitch, then Care carelessly puts his foot on the line before picking up the ball. Spectacular.

That offside kick away of the ball is deeply cynical and should be a card.

Why are we not bringing Dan on? The game is lost and frankly the extra pace wouldn't go amiss.

How many times are they allowed to slow the ball down with no attempt of playing it legally?

They kicked it out of that ruck as well. Is this a professional ref?

We've been ropey today, but getting refed like this is doing Ireland no favours either.

They aren't going to get way with side entries into rucks like this in Paris next month.

I'm more concerned this is not a professional England squad.

Too late to get Dan to retrain as an 8?

The referee screaming "USE IT! USE THE BALL!" at England as they stand looking blankly at clean ruck ball, in synchrony with every England fan.

Ireland haven't kicked the ball to Stewart with the regularity of Wales which makes him fairly superfluous since he doesn't offer much else. Billy roly poly should never have been on the pitch and now he's not.

Don't worry, I'm sure Soapy Borstal and co. have learned a lot of lessons and have a great list of positives from today's performance

Played the best team in the world at their place. Wasn't ever going to go well for us but we looked improved on most aspects. Not good enough but certainly better than the last two weeks.
